Adult Onesies: Yay or Nay?

I see rompers/onesies/jumpsuits kind of like dresses – they’re one simple piece you can add to, or not – so effortless for warmer weather. Sure, the jumpsuit is an “unconventional” look for a grown woman, but since when should that stop us from wearing them?

I saw a woman wearing a super-cute silk short romper at the San Antonio zoo last weekend, and it just looked like the most perfect outfit for the day. I think they can be very hard to fit if you’re not perfectly proportionate, though, but if I could (if I wore shorts), I’d live in this T by Alexander Wang Fleece jumper all Summer. Here are some other cute options:

from left to right:

Rachel Comey Suede Jumpsuit at Opening Ceremony – $863
Jack by BB Dakota Romper at Modcloth – $44
    Opening Ceremony Romper – $450
Lucca Couture New Safari Romper at Urban Outfitters – $58

What do you think? would you wear a romper?

they’re simply horrendous. sure, I’ve seen exceptions, and gratefully few on women in real life. IMO, they might look good on the RIGHT woman’s body, but they’re not appropriate or modern for anyone over 12.

no no and more no! i think the whole idea of one-piece / single-entry rompers or jumpsuits for grown women just seems so ridiculous to me…they don’t flatter many women regardless of body type, and why would i want to look like i’m on my way to a playdate when i’m old enough to dress and dress for myself? :P

Honestly I am really loving the romper this year as I seethere are def more options than last. I was feeling the whole jumpsuit vibe last year but when summer came there were def not as many options as there are this season!

I love rompers! I was tempted to buy one last summer and now that they’re back again, I might actually buy one.

They are a throw back to the 80s when rompers where everywhere! I love them however I don’t think most people can pull it off. My mom wore them in the 80s, when she was in her 20s, but she was gorgeous and all of 95lbs. I definitely think you need to be under 30 and under a size 6 to pull it off well.

I might have done it (back in the 80′s) when I was young and twig-thin. But honestly, they are NOT truly flattering on anyone “over 12″ as LU so succinctly put it. It’s a NO!

Ok, I am the odd ball here but I really like the brown romper! It is really cute! The others I am not so sure about, it if I was a size 5, I would rock the brown one!
