Gerard Darel handbags have long been favorites in their home country of France, and among celebrities in the US, but until now, it’s been a hard brand to find in the US. Honestly, this makes Gerard Darel all the more attractive for me; I won’t see my bag on everyone and their mother. I admit, I love to carry a high-quality, beautiful bag that constantly leaves people guessing as to who designed it! My Gerard Darel 36-heures bag from Delcina has no logos, no bells & whistles, no fancy closures…it’s just a timeless, gorgeous, high-quality leather bag.
I’m about 5’3″ and I feel like this size is great for me. It’s big, but you KNOW how I love big bags…and not at all overpowering on my frame. It’s lined in plain black fabric, and is very easy to stuff full, and then get it all out. I prefer to carry it by hand or on my elbow, but it’s very comfortable to carry on my shoulder, although it would NOT fit if you’re wearing a coat, and the handles are not adjustable. The bottom is structured and has feet, so the bag does not lose it’s shape at all. Also, I didn’t find the bag itself to be very heavy, although the leather is thick and very soft.
Here’s a close-up picture of the bag itself, it doesn’t have any outside pockets at all, but the three inside pockets are sufficient for organizing all my odds & ends (and one of the elastic side pockets is the PERFECT size/holder for my SIGG water bottle!).
