Based on all of your comments on my ankle boots posts the last two days, I’ve compiled a list of some of YOUR favorite ankle boots (I think I included all/most of them!!). I loved doing this – I think I’ll make this a regular feature – what do you think?
Anyway, thanks so much for all your suggestions, I know they helped me (I think I just need to get the RC mars booties – they’re on sale in brown croc at Shopbop for $199 and try them before anything else), and hopefully they helped anyone else who’s struggling to find a good pair of ankle boots. If I missed any, or if you have any other suggestions, please include them in the comments – as well as sizing/styling suggestions. We love those 🙂
**edited 12/9/2013 – based on comments I added in the ACNE pistol boot to the “boutique” below (couldn’t edit the image above!) – there are some suede versions on sale at SSENSE and you can use code GRECHEN25 at Azalea SF for 25% off a pair of Pistol booties there (if you haven’t ordered from them before)
Have a great weekend!!
Here are some more favorites, and where to buy:

I think you should have included Acne pistol boots too. They have a flattering shape at least on me, come in basic and unusual colors, can be dressed up or down/worn with many things and are comfortable.
Ok, ok, I bought the $99 Swedish Hasbeens. Took it as a sign that they were in my size. 🙂 I really like the fact that they have a zipper. I bought a green pair years ago but rarely wore them as they were a pain in the butt to shove my feet into. Great post!
What a great idea, Grechen! Thanks for doing this. Yes, let’s do a reader faves post more often.
The TN_29_Homage (by Tracey Neuls) booties I suggested are da bomb. They are as comfortable as trainers but much more stylish and versatile. In fact, I loved that style so much, I bought lace-up oxfords from the same line (called “Geek”) and they are winging their way to me from Vancouver as we speak. It was my only Black Friday purchase and I can’t wait. Because their rubberized sole goes up so high, they’ve even great in the rain, so perfect for travelling to northern Europe.
Oh, you really should include the Acne Pistols — I love mine, especially in the caramel-camel-rich colour that’s taken on such a gorgeous patina in the 18 months I’ve been wearing them.
And for practical chic, although no one would call them glamourous, the classic Blundstone boot is unbeatable for clean, simple styling in a waterproof, flat boot that wears well with jeans or skirts. And they are virtually indestructible!
Stopped by after seeing a sneak peak of #4, Swedish Hasbeens. I’m not familiar with the brand, but I LOVE wooden soles (perhaps I was Dutch in another life time 🙂 .. Sadly, sold out at Urban Outfitters for $99 … which apparently is steal as these retail for $300+ Still would love to snag a pair.
Monica.
I am still dying for a pair of the Rachel Comey Mars, but everyone says they run narrow, so I might have to find a “dupe.” I still love the Dicker and the Sam Edelman Petty. I hope that they become “classics.”
monica, anthropologie has a similar pair on sale for $149 – i just posted on grechenscodes.com today! they’re very cute..
yay!!! so glad you got them 🙂
I love swedish hasbeen boots! That was a crazy deal.
This was such a fabulous post. Any chance you can do one on tall boots too? Or maybe you already did?
Just got back from Manhattan, and some some gorgeous boots…. DKNY, Camper, Loefler Randall Matildes and by some miracle Prada!
