If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you already know I had a photoshoot last week with a local photographer, from which I posted a couple of photos. Here are more. I got these to use as “about” page photos, social media profile pictures, and on GrechenReiter.com. But I plan on using her again to shoot outfits, especially get better photos of items I receive for review, because as you can see, the lighting, details, etc., are so much better on these. Professionals know what they’re doing, eh?
Don’t worry, I won’t stop shooting in front of my garage door, but I’m looking forward to throwing in some better quality photos here and there, especially to give you a better idea of detailing on an outfit, and specifically for things I receive from brands to review for you. I just can’t get those details myself, with my camera on a tripod.
Looking at these, I wish I’d chosen a different dress – this one doesn’t stay looking nice for very long, and looks a bit “messy” in some (the belt migrates down!), but it was the one I felt most comfortable in, and I was really nervous getting my pictures taken!
I hope you enjoy 🙂
I have been following you’re blog for awhile. Very nice pictures you look great! Beautiful dress:)
Yes…I DO enjoy! You look great!!! I love that I can see the details in the dress so clearly. You look very relaxed, and oh so pretty, in the last photo. <3
Love the photos, especially the close-up!
Speaking of Reformation. I checked out their website last week and ordered two Austin tees. They arrived on Monday and I couldn’t be happier. I LOVE the very short sleeves, the slim shoulders, the no-fuss crew neck, and the relaxed fit. The cut is everything I was hoping for in an Everlane tee, but they have me disappointed lately. I have to get used to the slight sheerness in the Reformation tees (especially in the pistachio color), but since winter’s coming, a camisole shouldn’t be a big deal.
Now, I have to get over my infatuation with Reformation’s Lochness dress 😉
I love these. I feel like this is the Grechen I will see when and if we finally manage to meet up. <3
that dress is amazing!!!! not to enable or anything 🙂 but it would be so versatile…
thanks for mentioning that you tried the austin tees – i’d been considering getting one, amazingly enough, i don’t have a simple black crew neck t-shirt, and wanted to try theirs. how did you find the sizing? did you take your true size? (the pistachio is so beautiful…)
For some reason, I thought I had to size up, but it’s not necessary. Your true size will be drapey enough. The fabric is really delicate, so the recommended hand wash seems a must. Also, the black Austin tee is only a little sheer.
I just revisited the dress on the website. Just checking if it’s still looking good and all… 😉
Thank you!! Which color are you looking at in the dress? The blue is so pretty…
You’re very welcome! Thanks for all you great reviews.
The blue one. Or the striped one. But I think the blue one 🙂
Any issues with The Dress shrinking when you washed it?
Um…haven’t washed it yet. Just sprayed with febreeze. It’s waiting to be washed now though since I wore it in Florida last week 😉
Hi Grechen – you, the photos and the dress are all lovely!
These photos are lovely! Didn’t realize the dress had such texture to it, adds something extra to make it different from other long dresses.
I’ve been loving following your blog, I just turned 25 and resolved to start shopping with ‘the less but more quality and sustainable materials/manufacturing’ mindset. Thank you for blogging your fashionable taste and truth!
Gorgeous! Perfect lighting!
Your daily pictures are good (we have the same garage door!), but these professional pictures may be especially useful to emphasize texture or details. I already liked that dress on you, but the texture looks very interesting here, and texture is one of my pet peeves in clothing!
yes, thank you, you’re right – i am going to use a photographer for “special” things, and keep using my tripod for most outfits 😉 i do love the texture and detail she was able to get!
