Rachel Comey Monterey pants | size 6 – made in the US
Rag & Bone/JEAN striped top | size medium
Vince Blair sneakers | mine are haircalf, and 4 years old
James Perse mini canvas tote | made in the US of Italian fabric
I honestly don’t have much to say about this outfit today, except it was what I wore yesterday . Yes, yesterday.
I love the pants so much, but I do have to sometimes make myself wear them, because they’re sort of “out there” for my region of the country. I do so anyway, and am always really glad I did; they’re incredibly comfortable, and make everything a little more interesting and happy 🙂
And the tote – where has it BEEN all my life? It didn’t exist until now, actually. I bought one of the “small” canvas totes by James Perse a few years ago and took it back because it was just too big, and didn’t have a closure, something I thought I needed then. Now, I enjoy carrying bags that don’t have closures, and find that other than airplane travel, I’m cool with not being able to zip or snap everything up all the time. The mini version is a great size, fits comfortable over my shoulder if I want to carry it that way, will hold my laptop if I need it to (and more) and has a good-sized internal pocket. AND, it’s 100% non-leather, which is really challenging to find, even with canvas bags, since many of them have leather handles. I highly recommend this if you’ve been thinking about one, but need something smaller than their original tote sizes.
Enjoy the rest of your week!!!
I love the Comey pants on you, Grechen – I see they are 100% cotton and high-rise-ish? (Wide legs never look good on me). But I have a q about your new Levi’s – I usually find jeans thrifting but really want the same pair you have. I saw that they are currently cheaper on Levi’s site (30% off), but the listing there says 99% cotton, 1% stretch, American Cone denim, and identifies them as ‘low stretch.’ Is the info different on your pair? The disparity between Shopbop’s site info and Levi’s is keeping me from ordering from anywhere; it’s annoying we don’t have the 100% cotton options that men seem to have. /end rant
well i’ll be damned. you made me look, just to double check the fabric content and they are indeed 99% cotton 1% elastane. wtf? that pisses me off and i’m going to contact shopbop about it. i did actually leave a review on the jeans at shobop disputing that they’re made in the US, i wonder if i can edit that.
UGH. they’re still good though i guess. but i don’t understand the mis-labeling. trust levi’s site is the lesson in that i suppose 😉
We are pant twins! I have a very similar pair, and I know exactly what you mean about telling yourself to wear them. I love that they are unique, but sometimes that feels uncomfortable. They look really great on you!
I know! I love your pants too and your outfits inspired me to try these again after I’d given up on them 🙂
There’s those pants I love again….If you ever decide they are too out there for your use…. 😉
I’m sorry and glad at the same time to have nerded out and brought this to your attention – I just don’t see why women don’t get the 100% cotton experience. I haven’t worn such a high rise in a while and can see why it might help but thought the rise plus all cotton was intriguing. Thanks Grechen!
no, thank you for asking about the cotton. i don’t even know why i didn’t look in the first place, when i got them. i am just way too trusting lately. that, and i have brain fog ALL THE TIME anymore. i wondered why they weren’t stretching out as much as i thought they would, so this explains it. ugh.
