Eileen Fisher organic cotton/tencel jacket | size small NOT PETITE
Ilana Kohn grid dress | via slowre
Rachel Comey dover slides/clogs | chewed up a little bit 🙁
I seem to have been shopping slowre quite a bit lately, even though I REALLY REALLY try not to…
I couldn’t resist this Ilana Kohn dress when it came in, mostly because it’s NOT BLACK, and also because it’s like wearing pajamas in public. And, I love the length of it with the Eileen Fisher jacket; the key to wearing that jacket with skirts/dresses for me, is that the hem of the skirt/dress must be longer than the jacket. And it helps if I’m wearing some sort of heel, and right now, these clogs are the only “heels” I have. And sadly, Dagny chewed up the toe of the left shoe, not so bad I can’t wear them, but man, she went at it for a while before I caught her…
On another note, although not really, because it pertains to the undergarments I wear with dresses like this during summer, Only Hearts, my holy grail designer for organic cotton undies, is offering 20% off their site today for equal pay day with code CLOSETHEGAP. Today marks the day the average woman would have to work until to make as much as the average man made in 2016; 20% counts. Yes, yes it does.
I mentioned my love of Only Hearts’ “granny panties” a while ago, as what I wear with flowy dresses like this, for coverage and comfort, and I plan on stocking up on them today. I can’t recommend them highly enough. I also have about 5 pairs of their organic cotton bikini panties that I love. Please support them today if you’re so inclined.
That dress – what are the sleeves like? It looks like…[I’m sorry, I really am] the hospital gowns where I go get mammograms…..I think this is a little too much art teacher – is that what you call it? – for me. I can’t get the hang of flowing over flowing – though I know it’s true the more I see it, the more my eye adjusts to it and it becomes normal….
I’m so glad you’re getting use from that Eileen Fisher jacket!
Yes! It looks exactly like a hospital gown lol – I like it best layered with something for that reason actually.
I felt so bad saying it because it does REALLY look comfortable. But then I always have a cardigan anyway, so maybe it wouldn’t be so obvious. On the other hand, I work at a University/hospital, so….. 🙂
I think it looks adorable paired with the EF denim duster. And i love the (GASP!) color on you with your blonder hair. I think it would make a great summer “house dress” (I sound like my mother-in-law!).
Haha! Don’t feel bad. It was funny because I was trying to pinpoint exactly what it looked like. Now I know lol
Why would you pay $35 for one pair of granny panties? I don’t understand why they’re that special.
1. they’re organic cotton
2. they’re made in the US by a small, independent company
3. they fit perfectly
4. they fit perfectly
5. they fit perfectly
those are all the reasons i need. i do think it’s worth it to pay more for these things. not everyone does, i understand. i’m just sharing things i love – that’s what i do here 🙂
oh, yes. i love house dresses, and am wearing one right now 🙂

I really like the wide-band colorblock ones. The waist is so comfortable and non-constricting.
nice! thanks so much for the recommendation! have you tried any of her bras? that’s one place i’m lacking organic cotton. i tried pansy, but the fit was WAYYYY small….
