Ilana Kohn Milo jumpsuit in Dark | Large
Birkenstock sandals
First things first, I’ve been working SUPER hard at slowre lately, so apologies for being absent here. I have 30+ new items going up tomorrow (11 AM CST) and half of them are Elizabeth Suzann. We haven’t even talked about her going out of business…. I have some thoughts on that, and am disappointed, of course, but I wondered how much longer she’d be able to manage with such long wait times. I’ve wanted to order something many times and didn’t because of the wait time, and being so unsure about sizing. Even after having tried and bought many of her pieces, the sizing was still sort of difficult to figure out.
Anyway, I’m so thankful I’m still getting consignment in, but getting that many items up at once is overwhelming! I probably should have broken it up a bit LOL.
Also, I’m slowly figuring out the types of things I can wear at home running around after Hawk and be comfortable in, and most of the time they are jumpsuits. It’s soo hot here, which is when I usually wear dresses, but I have to say dresses are very uncomfortable now that my thighs rub together. Even when I was this size before, I don’t remember that being so unbearable as it is now, but there. I said it. Even with my megababe thigh rescue, I get so uncomfortable trying to walk, etc., in dresses I tend to wear pants or jumpsuits.
Sturdy front pockets are also helpful for lugging stuff up and down the stairs, so that leaves me with this Milo, which is on repeat lately. I did also order a couple other jumpsuits during her sale (still on, BTW), so I should be set for fall/winter. Dressing this body is such a work in progress…lots of trial and error!!
Big boy sitting in his Sprout weaning table and chair 🙂
I can’t believe I’m his mother. Sorry, just had a moment….sometimes I have to remind myself. Things have changed so much, but it’s still so new.
Hope you’re all well!!
Try Undersummers! Although I’m sure there are other brands that also work well, undersummers are SAVING my thighs. Inner thigh chafing has been next level this year for me, and these shorts under dresses have been so helpful. They’re not tight like shape wear; they’re meant to fit comfortably and not binding. ?
FYI – I’ve tried a couple of browsers, but haven’t been able to open slowre.com for your last two uploads. I basically get a message saying the website isn’t secure and attachers may be trying to steal personal information. I also tried replying to the slowre email to let you know, but I got a auto response back saying it could not be delivered because maybe the email had a virus? Something weird like that. Anyways, just wanted to let you know!
Also – jockey slipshorts – great for thrubbage (as I like to call thigh rubbing/chafing). Very thin material that isn’t too hot for DC heat and humidity, so maybe it would work in Texas too.
Yes, I mentioned that last time you brought up chafing – ALL products come off me because I sweat so much. I’ve been wearing jockey slipshorts or men’s active fabric boxer briefs with dresses (so, most every day from April – October) for many many years. As noted by Alyce, not compression like spanx – just underwear that go down my thigh 😉 I got a ton of my friends into them as well 🙂 Jockey are the best of the brands I have tried on me – there are some that wanted to roll up (longer is better for me because if they’re too short, they just roll up into my bikini line because I have large thighs…..) Also, I pee way too much for jumpsuits. So much. But it’s because I drink a lot. Because I sweat a lot. Full circle 😉 You look so good in that jumpsuit – I’m glad you’re figuring out what works for your needs AND you’re far more stylish than I am while doing it 😉
Thigh rub is so worth that precious little bundle sitting at that table with a book. So totally precious! Thank you for sharing!
I’ve been looking at Ilana Kohn’s jumpsuits but I get nervous about the length of the torso, which is often a problem for me. But it’s so cute! Is that the denim version?
And look at Hawk sitting at the table like a big boy! So sweet!
Grechen, he is such a cute morsel!
I was deeply saddened about ES. Also surprised as E mention on instagram she had enough sales to carry them two months (I think) and also that she got some government funding. I had so many questions in my head that I of course couldn’t ask her, like why not scale down? Sell the building and have the clothing sewn by home sewers, why not sell the business? since the wait lists are so long, how will she manage supply as a lone sewer when the demand is so high? It is really none of my business and I think there must have been a grieving process for the loss of her amazing ES. ES meant so much to me as a plus size woman and I finally found a brand that was designed for me as well as thinner people. I loved her clothes. I loved the models. I loved the styling, showing me how I can wear ES and carry the styling over to my other clothes. The saddest part for me was the closure of the ES Instagram. Plus size women dont have a lot of pages to look at bodies their size in such lovely clothes. It was a go to page for me to see styling and people like me. Since ES Instagram fans were so devoted (even doing a week long “vigil” featuring themselves in ES clothing) and the images were so amazing I was surprised that this wonderful history of ES was removed. I think it was part of the healing process and moving on, but boy I miss it so much. I am hoping one day it will be put back up. Liz really cared about plus size bodies and making extended sizing right. I do hope I can purchase some ES in the future. I would love to see her return and see what she does next.
