What I’m wearing right this second. I think I’ll normally post my outfit-of-the-day selfies as what I wore the day before, it’s too hard to post the day of, especially on my 9:45 Pure Barre days. But here’s today!
I’m very sorry the harper tunic in wool isn’t available from Elizabeth Suzann right now, because it’s AMAZING. I asked for the one size and I’m very happy with the size: the sleeves are a very good length (I have them rolled up a little here) and the neckline is perfect. It’s quite long in the back, but it’s meant to be.
I wore this exact outfit driving home from Atlanta last weekend, and was ridiculously comfortable. Well, as comfortable as one can be sitting in a car for 12 hours…
I also wore it a few days at my mom’s, so it’s getting quite a bit of wear. I haven’t washed it yet, but it did come with a sample of wool shampoo (I usually use the Laundress wool & cashmere shampoo) and a sweater stone though, which is handy. This wool doesn’t really pill much at all, which I find impressive. It’s tightly woven “felted” wool, in sort of a herringbone pattern. Beautifully made, as are all Elizabeth Suzann pieces. And the pocket. It’s the most wonderful thing.
The sweater is hard to layer because of the sleeves, so I reserve it for warmer days. It’s in the low 60’s and sunny here, so I’ll need a scarf also, but I should be warm enough with just the sweater. You could layer it over a substantial turtleneck though, I’ve tried it with my brushed jersey James Perse turtleneck, which is very warm.
What are you wearing today? Did anyone get an Elizabeth Suzann wool piece before the trouble with sourcing started? (I actually don’t know any details besides what a few of you have told me, but I’m going to try and find out more from my contact at ES and let you know. Apparently the wool is returning soon).
*and since you can see my socks here, which I hate, they’re by Smart Wool. The ones I’m wearing now are the hide & seek, which I usually wear only with boots or my converse sneakers so they don’t show. I have many many pairs of secret sleuth style that I wear with all my shoes in the fall/winter.
Love this outfit on you, Grechen. Those sneakers you’re wearing go so nicely with everything! Today I’m wearing the JP split long dress in charcoal (got this on recent sale), with a long grey cardigan from Equipment (bought last year), a pair of Superga sneakers in grey, and a Burberry knockoff wool scarf 🙂
If I were to purchase one thing from ES this season, it probably would’ve been this wool Harper tunic b/c I love the linen one and wear it so often. Hopefully it’ll be back in stock soon (?)
LOVE the tunic but unfortunately ES is not available in Europe :(((
This season I’m into all things Boboutic, an Italian knitwear company. I’ve purchased their crust-3 pants and cardigan in grey and a similair knit in a short hooded jacket in army green. I’ve worn the pants and jacket quite a few times already and the cardigan is very oversized, even in XS, so it almost functions as a light jacket and I haven’t worn that as much as I thought I would.
Today I wore the pants and the hooded jacket with a grey sweater by Barrie under the jacket. This has been my favorite uniform this season, oversized, slouchy, warm and comfy. Your lovely tunic would fit right into my wardrobe!
Hi Grechen- Yes you do look so comfy in this and happy. I wore my JBrand split hem jeans w High-top wedge sneakers , a khaki muscle tee and camo sweater w a 3/4 sleeve grey wool duster. I am baby sitting a Boston terrier who woke us up at 3 am to go out so I was bleary eyed this morning.
I must say Im enjoying the results of my wardrobe audit, knowing what I have and how small a portionI actually wear. I am also enjoying talking about this “what we wear and how we wear it with my best friend. I bought her the book The Cool Factor and she is really enjoying shopping her own closet . So thank you Grechen for this lovely bee you have put in our bonnets. I am so impressed by your spread sheet and how you remembered 175 of your pieces. Rock on- I’m going back to count how many items I have that are black. <3 Gena
Nice tunic! I just love slouchy pieces so much, I never want them to be out of fashion! I’d love to see this paired with jeans, too, even tho it’s perfect with leggings.
There are several small companies with simple styles and a sustainable ethos that I’m looking at. I’m still not sure which one to go with. It seems as they’ve become more popular, they’ve raised their prices!
