Elizabeth Suzann wool harper sweater (gift last year to review)
James Perse leggings | last day for free shipping w/GRCHNHOLIDAY17
Vince Warren sneakers
Transience Swing Bag | gift from the designer to review
Yes, you’ve seen this outfit before: here, and here, here, and also sort of here. I seem to gravitate towards this specific combination when I wear the Harper sweater; it just works well with leggings and sneakers. I wore this all day yesterday getting ready for Cyber Monday today at slowre (head over there if you haven’t already…I marked down tons of items, added some great new pieces from my own closet and each order this week gets a surprise discount off your next order!) and then to dinner with Leo.
And BONUS, can you tell I’m not wearing a bra? (I love fall/winter layering for that – no one need ever know…). No makeup either. I was working like a crazy person yesterday…
Speaking of Cyber Monday…I’m over all the emails and sales, but feel like a few are worth noting:
- Shopbop – 35% off sale with code WOW35. Uh. this is a really good deal! Especially on my Robert Clergerie sneakers
- James Perse – it’s the last day for free shipping during the sale!!! Use code GRCHNHOLIDAY17 for free shipping on any order
- Melissa Joy Manning – 25% off with code CYBER17 – ethical jewelry, my favorite earrings (I’ve worn them everyday for years)
- Osmia organics – 20% off (no code needed) I love their rose linden hand cream, and will be ordering some soap with this code
- Garmentory – get $40 off when you spend $200!! this is so good…especially if you have a $20 credit in your account after signing up for an account via my referral link 🙂
I did cave and order a few things on sale…
I finally purchased some things yesterday from Shopbop and James Perse. All James Perse actually…several tees from Shopbop and the high gauge circular tee in black, size 1 and the high gauge relaxed tank in white, size 2. I needed to restock some of my favorite basic JP tees and wanted to try the new cotton/wool blend long sleeve tee.
Oh, and I bought the black crane bud dress in plum via Garmentory, size small, after I had one come through for slowre in medium, and LOVED IT, but it was too big.
What have you bought with black friday/cyber monday deals? How was your Thanksgiving?
Wait, the bag! After I mentioned a Transience swing bag in a post a couple weeks ago they reached out to thank me and sent me this bag to review. I had been looking for a hobo (one strap, roomy) and I love perforated mesh 🙂 I’ve been using it for a few days, but I really love it; it’s roomy, and super easy to carry on my shoulder, even with dolman sleeve sweaters like what I’m wearing. I’ll have a full review later (We’re going on a massive road trip next week and I will use it then), but I’m really happy with it so far.
Happy Monday!! And don’t forget to head over to slowre this week
It’s the PERFECT outfit. I would pay almost anything (i feel like) if I could get my hands on a harper sweater…
I bought some undies from PACT, some fringe earrings from Soul Flower, and some Chelsea boots from Oliberte. So tempted by lots of good things, but I don’t need or even really want anything else. (Oh, and I bought my husband a new computer.)
oh, nice 🙂
i wish i loved pact undies, but i don’t. i like their camis, and other stuff, just not their undies…
there have to be some floating around, i’m surprised i haven’t seen one pop up for sale here and there…although i’m not sure how many people got them before they had to discontinue, and WHO would want to sell it if they had!!! it’s a wonderful sweater, so comfortable to wear, but it is challenging for me to create outfits with it…other than leggings, that is 😉
I did no Black Friday shopping (I was working on Friday 😉 I did buy some flannel boxers for my husband (Lands End – they are very hard to find! If you ever have any ethical sources for flannel, I’d love to consider!) Today, I bought some stuff at Vita Cost because of their free shipping & extra discount – they sell my cat’s favorite food (Natural Value) cheaper than Amazon. Got some lip balm and beard balm (husband again 😉 And some kindle books…..Off to see what slowre has today 🙂
The only clothing item I bought was the exact same James Perse Cirular T that you bought…always on the lookout for a good T.
Grechen, you look fabulous in that Harper Sweater combo. I was fortunate to order an Eva long sleeve top in black raw silk broadcloth before it left the ES website, and I could easily live 24/7 in that top if I could. I snagged a long sleeve Harper Tunic in ivory raw silk off of #selltradees but haven’t received it yet. Talk about cuddly fabric!! And it doesn’t get too warm for my hot flashes!!
Other than that, I got a great start on my Christmas shopping, and designed and ordered my Christmas cards. I have already gotten shipping confirmations for many items. Arrivals will begin this week…funnily enough I am still awaiting a Sephora package (I’m a VIP Rouge so shipping is supposed to be 2 days) that I ordered on 11/14 and still haven’t received. When I look at the tracking info, this box has literally been bouncing all over the country LOL.
Do you know how the Warren sneakers are different from the Blair sneakers? And I love this outfit. It’s a great classic looking but comfortable look.
thanks kelly 🙂
i have both pairs, and the warren didn’t feel right on me at first, but now that i’ve worn them a week or so, they’re super-comfortable.
the blair doesn’t have as high a platform, and i had to size down a 1/2 size in both my blair pairs. my warrens are my “true” size 8. warren has a pointier toe and covers more of my foot also, which i like right now…
i wrote more about my favorite sneakers for this post (at first, i really didn’t think the warrens would work for me, but i think my feet were just getting used to wearing sneakers again, instead of birkenstocks 😉 )
thank you! I’m deciding if I want a pair and I can’t try them on here.
you can’t go wrong with either one, honestly, but i really love the extra height of the warren right now 🙂
I bought some stuff off Amazon and REI for family, and bought myself some facial care items from Palermo Body (their toner is AMAZING). I also got Beauty Chef GLOW powder from Anthropologie for 30% off which I’ve been lusting after for years but is so darn expensive! So I’m excited to try it. I will probably buy my husband a Babaa sweater today, and just bought a pair of Beek Mules and discounted Jesse Kamm Ranger pants on Noihsaf Bazaar this weekend. I think all I have left are stocking stuffers! Someday I’d love to beone of those people who can #OptOutside, but this just wasn’t the year…
On Friday I bought nothing. I was actually busy working that day. The only sale that tempted me was a local Honolulu boutique, La Muse. She never has sales and is quite expensive (many made in the US or France pieces) and her selection is very whimsical and unique. I did not make it however. Pre-black Friday I bought items that went on sale earlier: Kate Spade 30% off (bought the cat iphone crossbody for myself and several gifts for my team at work), Tory Burch buckle tote from Nordstrom and a red matte Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag from Bloomie’s. I plan to return one or both of the bags, really was not necessary purchases. I am leaning toward keeping the Bao Bao as I feel it is a bit more special, I love it and could be a statement piece with some of my minimalist clothing. I also don’t have very many pop of color pieces and this tote is a lovely bright poppy color. The Tory Burch tote is very popular and now sold out. It is appealing as it looks more like a purse but can carry a laptop and I got it in the cognac (luggage) color, which I don’t currently have. It is very practical but I don’t have room in my closet for another large bag. I already have several laptop toting bags, I don’t need another, it was totally an impulse buy. On Saturday I picked up a mustard linen shirtdress by Yuvita (this brand may be of interest to you & your audience Grechen) from a local boutique in downtown Honolulu, Echo & Atlas. So, I think I’m done. In fact, it is time for a shopping diet 😐 Between this past few weeks + my Seattle trip, I have done some damage.
I am so sorry I didn’t buy an Eva top in the raw silk before it was gone. I had tried one on in wool at a sample sale and didn’t love it. But in that silk…
