Guys, I’m exhausted. I know. Cry me a river. But this is so unusual for me. I’m used to sleeping well. And not feeling overwhelmed/exhausted by noon. Ah well – it could be worse.
And yesterday it was in the mid-60’s here so this was the perfect outfit and it made me so happy. It’s sort of a throwback, classic Grechen outfit, no? I love a slim James Perse dress with a cozy sweater on top…
This dress was half my order from the JP sale (I also got the high gauge drop shoulder tee in grey, size 2, and it is SO GOOD) and I’m really pleased with it. I could have bought the size 0, but I wanted room to grow so went with the size 1 instead. It’s 100% ribbed cotton so it gives A LOT, and is ridiculously comfortable. It’s a bit sheer, but I’m not going to wear it alone, so I don’t mind. I absolutely recommend this dress if you appreciate a simple dress for layering.
We got some excellent and very exciting news yesterday which I’ll share later this week once I’m sure all the family is aware. And I’m rounding out the end of my first trimester in a couple of days, which gives me some relief? It’s a milestone anyway, which I always appreciate reaching 🙂
Did anyone else order anything from the James Perse sale? Did it arrive yet? please share your thoughts!!
Well, WOW, congratulations! It’s been a few months since I’ve come around and read the blog and checked out SLOWRE. How wonderful and delightful to hear about your pregnancy!
Absolutely, the first trimester is a milestone, and, yes, you can be and say you are tired. It’s real. Grab naps when you can.
Yes, this is a classic Gretchen outfit – style matched with comfort, but I do love the jumpsuits you’ve featured lately.
I’m sure you’re getting loads of advice, so, other than suggesting naps, I’ll just say one thing. Overwhelmed is okay; pregnancy and a baby changes things. And, it’s also okay to decide that you can’t do everything every day. Figure out what works for you, your family, your career and let the other stuff go. You’re wise, funny, and smart – you’ll be a great mom.
I am ten weeks pregnant tomorrow and I feel you on the exhaustion. May the end of the first trimester bring you some relief (because I am counting on it helping me out in a few weeks as well).
I am so glad you got great news and I’m excited to read it when you’re ready to share! The exhaustion is real and it comes back (in a very different way) into the third trimester. But I found between 14-16 weeks, things got much easier, food was easy again, and my energy came back really well. Hoping you’re knocking on the door of better-feeling days!
oh, congratulations!! 🙂
thank you!!
i’m very lucky that i can set my own schedule and work whenever i feel like i have the energy. i can’t imagine how women who work outside the home with a regular schedule manage LOL – i don’t think i’d be able to do it!
I love this outfit! It’s my kind of outfit too.
Your body is busy growing a little one 🙂
I really love this look! Yes – it is kind of an OG Grechen outfit – but you’ve come so far since that time. So happy that you’ve got some good news! XOX (Sleep well)
Wow I love James P. I was in a consignment store and picked up a few of his blouses- they look like a million dollars!! They fit like they have been tailored to me, and I want more. Where is the best place to get them? I check your site alot as I know you like him also.
And…..great to hear you are doing well. Is the news baby-related??? Can’t wait to hear! This will be a good year for you!
