Remember this Madewell dress? I mentioned I tried it on a few weeks ago, loved it, but thought it was a bit too short, and didn’t want to pay full price…it was on sale in the store yesterday ($99 – 25% off) so I got it.
But I’m not keeping it. I do think it’s too short, and just really really accentuates my hips a bit too much LOL. I swear it looks better in real life, and truly didn’t realize my hips are THAT BIG (!!!) but I’m not sure it’s the right dress for me; if it was a bit longer, I’d be more comfortable in it. I’m posting the picture strictly for educational purposes, and because I really do like the dress in general; I think it’s a great deal for $75 if you live near a store (it’s still $99 online).

What? Why would you return this? This dress is really cute and I think it looks great on you. While it does accentuate your hips a bit, it also makes your waist look small with the belt hitting you at your smallest part. I think you look curvalicious.

I remember this dress (and trying it on myself and loving it) and think it looks so cute on you. Not at all too short!!! I agree with Joanna that you look curvalicious (lol) and your waist looks tiny. But if it’s one of those items you’re not 100% about, then find something else you are totally loving for your closet instead.

Belated response as I am catching up on the blog posts I missed while I was in Brazil but DO NOT RETURN THIS! It looks fabulous on you, in my humble opinion. I adore how flirty and feminine it is and if you got it on sale, even better!

I love this dress and I know where you’re coming from! I hate showing off too much leg. When I really love a dress but its too short (and by too short, I mean if it hits above the knee!) I pair it with tall boots (say mid-calf to knee). They make me feel like I’m covering more skin and makes me more comfortable.

You’re making the right decision returning it. You put together plenty of outfits that look terrific on you–including the one at the top of the blog today with you in the long taupe dress. This Madewell dress isnt up to your standards.
