Ah… Fall!!! It was clearly fall yesterday here, it only stayed in the low 70’s all day, and I was so cozy in this outfit. I hardly noticed I was wearing anything!
The kimono was a workhorse yesterday, and never got in the way, which is a problem for me sometimes with oversized jackets (like my Atelier Delphine haori coat) and kimonos. In this way, I think going with the one size minus was the perfect decision. It is “snug” on my hips in this size, but it’s impossible to tell unless I try and pull it closed. And why would I do that??
The kimono is a lot heavier feeling than it seemed from the photos/description at Elizabeth Suzann, but it’s not TOO hot or heavy. Like I said, I wore it all day yesterday in the low 70’s and was never hot. It has significant weight to it, so it feels good on, but that’s something to keep in mind if you’re looking for light & airy. That, it is not. It’s comfortable and substantial, nicely drapey, while not being totally unstructured. It’s a really nice balance, honestly, and of course, I’ll forever be tempted by the lighter color too…
Happy Wednesday!! My mom is here and we’re making lots of progress on home decor 🙂 My kitchen table chairs from Target (in slate gray) arrived yesterday and they’re great. I got this Ikea table from a friend for the kitchen, and this elfa unit for a spice rack in the pantry (it is BRILLIANT, but what a pain to get on the door!).
