Outfit: In the rain

J Brand straight leg jeans (mine are very similar to the linked ones, but with a 16″ leg opening)
La Rok sweatshirt (I bought this in 2005 for some ridiculous price. FULL-price. Seriously. I haven’t worn it a lot the last few years, but it’s held up very well)
J Crew field jacket
PLAY x Comme des Garcons sneakers
Jerome Dreyfuss billy bag (link goes to black)

This is my outfit from last Friday, when Austin was mired in rain and cold weather. Today it’s sunny and quite a bit warmer, thank goodness, but for a moment there I thought I lived in a city that actually has seasons. Gasp! Anyway, keeping to my “no complaining” theme, I’m not complaining, because I was able to wear my J Crew field jacket again. And my CdG sneakers. – which make me smile. But I’m so glad to see the sun today. I joke about this all the time, but I’m convinced I’m part lizard, or some other cold-blooded animal. I FEEL like my body temperature is directly related to how much sun I get. And lately, it hasn’t been much…

This week, I’m going to be continuing my “essentials” series on Thursday, and starting a “Find me…” series on Tuesday where I ask you what you’re looking for on Twitter (or you can leave a comment or send me an email), I choose one and then post the results here. Last week, I helped a friend find a pair of black leather ankle boots for less than $100 (she asked for between $100-$150) and I’ll post my finds here on Tuesday and ask for what you need help finding. I think that will be fun! I’m going to post outfits as often as I can, but at least on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and I’m moving ALL the sale posts to Grechen’s Codes. Oh, and on Monday’s I’ll resume my “this week I love…” posts.

There, those are my resolutions for Grechen’s Closet this year. And now you can hold me to them. 😉
