James Perse hoodie dress | a few years old
Robert Clergerie sneakers
Marsell Dritta 4 bag
Here it is…that dress I can only wear a few times a year. It’s a mid-weight fleece-y material (it’s hard to describe, really), with a long slit up the back, so it’s warm, but also drafty, if you get my drift (lol). I am comfortable wearing it only if it’s in the 70’s and it’s been cold in the morning, so the air has a little crispness in it. haha. I love it so much though, which is why I hang on to it, and wear it every opportunity I get, even though it doesn’t get a great cost per wear.
That is all.
Oh, and there are some really great new arrivals at slowre today, and more coming soon!! (why the clothing rack is there behind me…)
The James Perse is adorable? How does it compare to their sweatshirt dress? I have 2 of the JP sweatshirt dresses and am looking to diversify!
Meant the JP dress is adorable!
Have you lost weight????? You look teeny. My trick to warm up outfits with long slits is tights, leggings or a slip dress underneath.
That dress is SOOO cute on you. [oops, sorry, you’re an adult woman – that dress is SOOOOO attractive on you ;-)] I have never liked a hood, though. On anything. I will tolerate it on a rain coat but NOTHING else. I have neck issues (I went from wearing nothing but turtlenecks half the year in the 80s and early 90s to not being able to wear any at all ever. Or short necklaces. Or scarves too tight….) I think maybe if it had a HUGE v-neck, it might be ok? But it would probably still pull, so no. And also would look like those hemp surfer hoodies all the boys wore in high school. Just my school? I do want a long sleeve maxi (or midi – on me, a midi dress would probably come to my ankle, so…) dress- I think a skimming one like that would be easier to wear than a fuller one (I prefer a tank style with sleeveless dresses in the summer too) Haven’t seen any, though….
i like it a million times better than the sweatshirt dresses…i had a couple of those and sold them, the cotton stretches too much and doesn’t “fit” me anymore with the sweatshirt dresses. this dress is a stretchy fleece-y jersey and holds it’s shape perfectly – it is SNUG, but not constricting 🙂
here is the old listing on shopbop: https://www.shopbop.com/long-hoodie-dress-james-perse/vp/v=1/1546739168.htm
i don’t think so? we don’t have a scale lol – i have been eating within an 8 hour window most days, though, and i think that is helping me trim a little extra fat (it’s supposed to)
oh, and i hate tights/etc., almost as much as i hate socks 😉 so i’m not great at “winterizing” dresses or skirts LOL
haha.. thanks kelly, i’ll take either one!
i used to wear hooded things so much leo would make comments about it and then i just stopped. now i’m not as much into them as i used to be, but i don’t mind them, either. i never use the hood LOL, but i sometimes like the neckline a hood creates!
I have this dress and I love it as much as you do. I went from VA where I got a great deal of wear out it to HI where I’ll most likely never wear it. It’s such a simple silhouette but I feel great in it every time.
isn’t it amazing?? i like to wear it at home also, but i feel sort of guilty doing that lol – it’s like super-luxurious lounge-wear that way. not opposed to that, but…
ARGH. I have been trying to find this dress in a size 3 for the last couple of years and no luck. Frequent ebay and internet searches, contacting James Perse, doing searches with the JP garment code, etc.
It is my “one that got away” that I should have purchased when I first saw it, and didn’t consider it until I saw your blog about it a couple of months later. If I could find one of these in a size 3, even used, I’d buy it so fast…
oh man!!! i hate that for you 🙁
if i see one around i’ll let you know!!
Love that dress!
Wow! Thanks!
Yikes! Only 8 hrs to devour my food? But you do look great! And I love the dress and sneaker combo
