As limiting as using “nude” to refer to a color (maybe “blush” is better?) is – it’s pretty accurate when it comes to my skin tone. And I’m obsessed. I’ve collected many “nude” pieces lately, but these two are my favorites:

I received these shoes right before the Texas Style Council Conference and while I wore them nearly every day of the conference, I didn’t get any great pictures, but everyone kept asking about them 
And honestly, standing and walking in ANY heels for 8+ hours is going to be painful, but these were less so than others, and not because of blisters, my feet were just TIRED!! They’re super-lightweight, a quality I’m beginning to REALLY appreciate in shoes and bags lately, and just beautiful. I like to stare at my feet when I’m wearing them…
The 3.1 Philip Lim bag I got with the last Refinery29 RESERVE deal to OtteNY (you guys got that, right??) and it arrived on Saturday. It’s beautiful, but only good for carrying by hand, which is kind of disappointing. It comes with a longer shoulder strap for wearing messenger style, but in my opinion it sits kind of awkwardly, and I can’t get the flap to close since I first opened it, so it hangs open. Not safe, or practical. It holds a TON, more than you’d think and is even expandable, but I think it’s best suited to be a satchel and nothing more. I like to stare at it too.

I had to play around with the photo a bit because it was REALLY dark, but I think you get the idea. I got the dress at the “Gucci” goodwill as my friend Sydney calls it for the purposes of a project we are working on, but I may end up keeping it. I don’t know..it’s a little big on me, and purple, but pretty.

Regarding the longer strap – It should have a seam at the top – and a shoe repair / handbag repair person can cut from there to make it shorter and have it hang how you want it… a definite must for us shorter gals!

The flap isn’t closing? That sound like the clasp is defective – you should exchange it for a new one – mine works great.
oh! excellent idea about shortening the strap!! i will do that for sure. and it’s not that the flap won’t close, it’s just very difficult to DO when i’m wearing it…

Hahah, my comment would have been similar to this except trade shoes for bag. I love bags; I am not an open-toed shoe kind of person. My toes are gross but Grechen! Yours are so pretty!

I was going to say the same thing, Amy!!! Grechen’s toes look like “model feet”–I am SO jealous since I could probably go water-skiing…without the skis….with my feet!
To answer your question, Grechen: Nude kitten heel slingback pumps from Aldo and I have a TON of nude/blush/pale nail polish from NARS because I work at a cosmetics boutique!
