Skargorn #61 tee | 30% off at Madewell with code KEEPITCOOL (I’m wearing a small – love it)
Birkenstock Arizona Sandals
Jerome Dreyfuss backpack
Haha! it’s not a haul exactly, since it’s only one piece, but that’s all I needed!! And anyway, as I’ve often discussed here, I have a very hard time buying out of season, so I stick to looking for workout wear, jeans, bras, panties & beauty exclusives (uh…Lancome mascara wardrobe?? yes, please!) during the Nordstrom anniversary Sale.
I bought these SoLow leggings for Pure Barre/Exercise primarily, but I’m not totally against wearing them out, like this (my ass is covered!!!), or with a long cardigan and sneakers when it’s cooler. It’s quite hot for leggings right now, but in the fall, I might wear these if I get a wild streak and want to wear an “interesting” pair of leggings other than black.
I’m a huge fan of SoLow and own 5-6 pairs of their pants/leggings/crops and a few tops/jackets/dresses. They produce everything in the US and are environmentally conscious. I usually wait to get my SoLow pieces on sale at Shopbop or with a code at their own e-commerce site, but I do find everything they make to be very high quality, holding up very well to a lot of use, so they’re probably also worth full-price if you’re so inclined. **ok. So I wore these to my Pure Barre class this morning, after I posted this, and noticed after that the stitching is coming out on the left side where the lace is. It will only continue to get worse, it’s not something I can snip off…so I’m taking them back to Nordstrom. Thank goodness they will take them back. I’m quite disappointed as this has never happened with a pair of SoLow leggings, but there’s always a first time I guess!
But back to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale…Some things have sold out (the James Perse blazer I posted earlier!), but here are some of my favorites of what’s left. Reader Dakotacheryl received her Theory Innis sweater and gave it a very positive review. Did anyone else get their order yet? What did you love/not love?

I wanted to give a review of the Vince boots, which I tried on in store—they were incredibly difficult to get on and off, and the fit was weird for me–I usually wear an 8.5, the 8.5 boots were way too long, the 8 boots were loose in the heel and still too long, but the 7.5 were too small. And the tops of the boots were not as close-fitting as I wanted.. Anyway, I was obsessing about these being my perfect boots but sadly (or happily for my budget!) they were not.
oh…that’s too bad. or not, if you’re glad you saved money š
i know the feeling though!!
I am thinking about getting the Vince sneakers. In the Q&A, a Nordstrom staff person says they fit true to size. I ordered the basket weave style earlier in the season and returned them because they seemed half a size too big. And they made me look like a boy. š I thought I would try it once more because of Nordstrom’s great return policy.
I ended up buying the JP cashmere v neck after I asked about fit. I am a small in Vince and Inhabit, and the size 2 sweater fits me just the way I like. The cashmere is divine. It is sold out now, but I would have been tempted to buy the other color if they still had it. (I suppose I should have put this in a different thread?)
i would order a 1/2 size down – every vince shoe i’ve tried on has been exactly a 1/2 size too big…but i didn’t say anything about it before because they specifically mention on nordstrom that this pair is supposed to fit TTS, so i thought maybe it did…
so glad you love the cashmere! i’ve yet to buy a piece of JP cashmere, simply because i feel like i have enough other cashmere!
I am shy to admit since I am trying to minimize as well, but I have a LOT of Inhabit cashmere. And quite a bit of Vince cashmere. This is my second JP piece, and I think I like it better than all of them. I find the softness of Inhabit cashmere inconsistent…it seems to depend on the color, even within the same style. And the basic Inhabit cuts seem to hit my love handles in a way that is unflattering from behind. (So my mother informs me: I’m 42). (Inhabit seems to be offering more relaxed cuts which is better for me). Vince is good. But the JP is everything we love from JP in a soft, perfect blanket of loveliness. If I don’t get the Vince sneakers, I may get another JP sweater. :0
i do agree with you on inhabit to a certain extent – and i have a lot of it too, but when they go on sale, the prices are just SOOO good! and i was lucky enough early on to work with them directly, so they sent me some pieces to keep/review. but yes, i do find the sizing/fits to be somewhat inconsistent. and the colors…man…it used to be so bad! you could never really tell what color you were going to get ! now it’s better.
i’m going to have to try JP cashmere this season. if I can work it into my budget that is š i love your description of it as a “soft, perfect blanket of loveliness” – who wouldn’t want that???
I ordered and received the Vince Bowen sneaks. Grechen, I agree about the sizing. I didn’t listen to the Nord Q & A. I ordered a half size smaller as usual and they are perfect. I mean I have two pairs already in suede so these prob weren’t going to be different. Suede stretches so slightly tight is ok.
Christina, I had the same experience with the basketweave style last season. I ordered and returned THREE pairs of the same shoe bc I couldn’t believe how off these were . I reviewed them on Nord site but my review is nowhere to be seen. They were just really long weird Vince shoes!
My other purchase from the sale was the James Perse jacket. Thankfully I ordered early bc I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh!! so jealous of your jacket!! i hope it pops up again, and then goes on sale š
or shows up at shopbop so i can get it with credits! how does it fit? true?
Grechen, I still have that JP cream cashmere tunic/dress that I offered to you. I’ll give you a great deal, too. It’s in excellent condition, and would work with your neutral wardrobe. Just think about it:).
