I felt like I should clarify a few things after my post yesterday since I wrote it in haste.
Yes, I do wear leggings every day, but not ALL DAY. *gasp* haha. just kidding. I did wear leggings on our road trip recently because all my other pants are wide leg and NOT great for public restrooms, especially now. But I still need/want to “get dressed” every day, and that means not wearing leggings all day. So here, you can see my morning outfit (I took this at 6 AM) and my after-Peloton outfit (my face is still red from my ride…) at 10:30.
I’ve gotten myself into quite a routine lately, which I love, and works perfectly for me, but as I say that, I’m afraid I’m jinxing it to change. Hawk’s probably due to go down to one nap soon…
I wake up around 5:30 or so in the mornings (I have always been an early riser). I’m still in significant pain when I wake up so maybe this is TMI, but I literally have to put my leggings on while I’m still sitting on the toilet because I can’t stand steadily enough to get my legs in. Ugh. I usually just add an ARQ bra or tank and head straight upstairs to get on the foam roller for 20 minutes or so. What a difference that makes!! I feel much better after that. I’m going to need to add in some ab work soon too to try and fix my diastasis recti, but so far with the rolling I’m seeing a lot of improvement in how my body feels.
Then I empty the dishwasher and get things organized a bit and get on the Peloton at 6:30 for 20-30 minutes. Hawk wakes up at 7:30 and Leo gets him up so I have some time to shower and get dressed then. If I don’t ride the bike early, I get on while he’s taking his first nap between 10-11 AM. In addition to foam rolling, riding the bike everyday helps a lot with my overall body aches and pains.
Anyway, sometimes I wear leggings from when I wake up until 11 AM, but that’s generally my limit. As I mentioned yesterday, these FLOAT seamless leggings by Girlfriend aren’t my favorite; they’re not compressive at all, and I miss that. They are very light and “comfortable” if not for having to pull them up all the time. Again, now that I’ve tried more of their leggings I’ll stick to the high-rise compressive leggings thank-you-very-much. I know they’re hard to find sometimes in black though.
**I didn’t want to hide this above – here’s my referral link for Girlfriend: you get $10 off if you purchase through it. And I get free leggings! Thank you in advance 🙂
THAT is probably way more information than you wanted about my morning, but there it is. And it’s maybe an update of sorts. I did have to stop doing Pure Barre virtual classes because of my foot/hand, which devastated me, but I’m glad we have the Peloton. “They” say that these weird aches like plantar fasciitis and tendon issues in my hand tend to go away six months or so after weaning, so…I’m waiting….
Also, MAYBE it’s starting to get cool enough for sweaters (yay!!). It was very cold today and Hawk was very toasty in his Patagonia better sweater while I wore my nano puff that’s too small to zip so I just tried to hold it closed the best I could LOL.
Happy Friday though!!
Random, but I think we’re going to watch the new Borat movie tonight. I need a laugh, and I love SBC. (edited to add – we watched it, and honestly I wish I had that time back to do just about anything else LOL)
I’m rounding the corner towards my 48th birthday on November 2 and starting to feel all the feels…
What do you have planned this weekend?
Mama I am so impressed with you! Personally my clothing goal at this time is to try not to wear the same pair of sweats more than 48 hours straight… This from a person who never owned sweatpants until she had children, and then only had one pair which was used exclusively to sleep in . Covid, you have a lot of ‘splaining to do!
Please, please, never feel you have to “explain” your clothing choices…it’s all good.
I completely agree with K– no explanation ever needed! If I do change out of my sweats, it’s usually only on the top since that’s all that anyone sees on my Zoom calls. Glad the foam roller and Peloton help with the aches and pains. That’s how I feel about my yoga teacher (she’s amazing if you ever want to try yoga that is virtual and might help). Enjoy your day.
