Guys. Today is a MONDAY. I’m sure you’re all suffering as much from the time change as I am, but I was also really sick last night. I’ll spare you the details, but I only just fell asleep around 3:30 AM and got up at 8. So I’m not on my “A” game today (I do not function well on less than 7-8 hours of sleep!).
Anyway, I put on one of the easiest outfits in the world for a day working at home on Slowre new arrivals, and maybe a trip to Costco? Monday early afternoon seems to be a good time to go to Costco. If there is ever a good time. I heard on the Forever35 podcast that they have my Schmidt’s deodorant there, in a 3-pack 🙂 – thanks to the recommendation from Catherine on that one, I haven’t listened to all the episodes yet, but it’s entertaining!
Speaking of Everlane though. You know I’ve pretty much sworn off buying anything new from Everlane, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing the things I do love, like my old cashmere sweaters. I do also enjoy Everlane’s linen shirts (not the t-shirts), so when they launch linen again, I may take another look, but otherwise I haven’t really seen anything that’s tempted me too much lately. Have you?
Has anyone purchased anything worth recommending at Everlane lately?
How’s your Monday?
I’m kind of anticipating the Everlane silk shirt release this Thursday because it looks like they have ones with notched collars, which I’m into. We’ll see! I’ve been wearing my Everlane cashmere a lot too lately. So much is hit or miss but the basic sweaters are just good wardrobe staples IMO.
Right now we have spray insulation installers crawling all over the house, front door wide open. Its so fucking cold out I’ve been wearing my puffy coat inside since this morning. Cannot wait for our little renovation to be done!
Everlane has felt very meh to me lately. I was looking forward to new spring t-shirt colors but all they introduced were pale greens and pinks, which are decidedly not my colors.
Just got home from Costco. Maybe because it’s spring break here and people are on vacation, but we were in and out of there in 15 minutes; probably because my husband made me step away from all the plants! It’s crazy windy and cold today (at least for Florida) and I am so ready for the weather to just even out—this 84 one day and 50 the next is driving me crazy because my body temperature can’t seem to regulate right. Does anyone else have this problem?!
Haven’t seen anything at Everlane that has been of interest. In fact, right now everything feels rather uninspired. I think there are at least ten brands doing the exact silhouettes as ES. Same colors too. I find it very off putting. Ah, maybe it’s just a case of the Monday grouchies!
I actually ordered 2 things from Everlane and like them both! The kick, crop jeans are terrific. Really nice quality denim and I think they’re super fun and flattering. I had them hemmed (the raw hem is not for me) and am excited to wear them when it is warm enough for no socks. I also ordered the soft cotton boatneck because I really like that neckline. I first ordered the small and it was too big and boxy but the material was nice and I did like the neckline so I ordered the x-small and am really happy with it. It will replace a cotton striped sweater that I’ve worn for years and has definitely seen better days. These were the first two pieces I had ordered from Everlane in a while and am really pleased with them. Hope you get some rest tonight (I completely agree with you about the time change– why are we still doing this?????).
I got a new cotton long sleeve crew sweater and it’s been really good for California’s spring weather. The new batch of cotton sweaters (produced and shipped in Feb 2018) are a tad larger and better than the original run that came out in fall of 2017. Also been using my Market Day Tote daily and I’ve been really liking how they’ve held up!
I just ordered new Everlane’s heeled day mule in cognac. I have been looking for an affordable mule For-ev-er. We’ll see how it goes. I have never kept a pair of Everlane shoes as of yet. Sitting here crossing my fingers that they’re just right! If not, I think Nisolo will be my second stop.
I ordered the Cropped Utility Pant in golden brown and love them so much. They are flattering and surprisingly a good neutral for my closet. I liked them somuch that I ordered the Wide Leg Cropped Pant in black too. They are amazing. Perfect for work or play.
I needed some good simple work pants too, so I tried the Go Weave Easy Pant. They are the perfect mixture of dressy and casual, so easy to dress up or down. I am not excited about the dry cleaning aspect and am hoping that I can hand wash and take care of them that way.
So overall pretty happy with my Everlane purchases of late.
Do you mind sharing size/fit for your everlane kick crop jeans? I’m really intrigued by them, but sizing and fit is so hit or miss with everlane, and none of the reviews I found online were helpful with regards to sizing! I always find myself having to mail back and forth a few times until I find the right fit :/
I currently love Everlane. Since January, I have purchased:
-Day flats (first red in 9.5, but eventually pounced on black once returned in my size (9)). I have only been able to wear them once, but I really like them
-Wide Leg Crops in Bone – love them. Debating a second pair in black or navy.
-Long-sleeve crew tee – like. They were a steal at $11 each, but the forearms don’t hold their shape well, which bugs me. But otherwise love them (I had the same problem of forearm stretching with my only-ever James Perse tee).
-light blue boyfriend jeans – love them, though they stretch a lot more than I expected (even sized down to 26 – I’m normally a 27/28), so I’m washing them every other wearing or so.
-I also received a merino t-neck for Christmas that I love-love-love.
I plan to buy a pair of the straight leg jeans when released and I’m currently planning to buy a few more silk tops for my work wardrobe, and I love the day heels I got last November (though I find them almost a half size more snug than the flats so far).
Happy to share. I am usually a 26 and the 26 fit a little tight but I didn’t want to go up to the 27 (in case they stretch). I am 5’4″ and weigh 110lbs. I sized down to a 25 in the Everlane Boyfriend and they fit well (not like a typical boyfriend but I like them). I would love to know if you try them and how they work out for you!
I have made a few recent Everlane purchases that I’ve really enjoyed.
I’m really enjoying the soft cotton square crew ($68), the cotton long-sleeve crew ($50) and the Crew Sweatshirts ($40) are my go-to on the weekends for casual, but still pulled together.
Check out Hopp Studios- I have 2 pairs of the mules and they are great! And they’re made in USA by SAS, a comfort shoe brand so they’re super comfy! AND there are still some on sale but I think new colors will be coming out soon.
I’ve been wanting to purchase Everlane’s heel boots (to replace older chelsea boots) in black leather but they’re out of stock in my size and won’t be re-stocking until April — when I’d rather be thinking about sandals.
thank you SO much! That is so very helpful. I’m about the same measurements, and I have some everlane credit, so I’ll get back to you on how they work out! I really appreciate it 🙂
Curious to know which brands!
