You didn’t see this one coming did you?? Neither did I, honestly. I had been thinking (again) about finding a denim jacket, wanting one longer than the cropped one I already have, something that felt a little more casual – easier to just throw on. I saw the Joe’s Jeans jacket on Shopbop as I was browsing the new arrivals and knew it was THE ONE. While I was out last week I tried it on and it was love at first sight. It’s a little bit crazy, and definitely oversized, maybe not very “flattering” on me (as opposed to a more traditional denim jacket – also probably not very flattering on me), but I absolutely love it.
So there you have it: my first love-at-first-sight-slightly-impulse purchase of 2014. Here’s to more of those this year 😉
Grechen,
Cute outfit and clogs! I have a question for you on clogs. I recently purchased my first pair and noticed though that when I walked in them the heel of the clog would shift off of my feet. Do you have this issue? Is it a matter of sizing?
Many thanks,
Samra
Denim jackets are the best! I have a DKNY jacket that’s more like a ‘suit’ cut with lapels etc. and one darker denim jacket similar to the one in your photo. I do regret donating a long denim coat which was to small .. well, perhaps I was too big 😛
Monica.
thanks samra! i think your clogs are too big…are you sliding out of them? the only time i’ve had something similar happen to me is when my clogs were to big.
Thanks for the quick response Grechen. They seem to be okay in size as my foot ends just at the clog so I thought maybe they are too small, although I still didn’t understand the sliding..yes I’m sliding but not out of them just that my heels start coming out of the clogs (falling to the inside of the shoe) as I’m walking.
hmmm.. are you “new” to clogs? or haven’t worn them in a while? sometimes i think if my toes aren’t used to having to grip the front of the shoe so much as they have to with clogs, it takes a little while to get them used to it. if that makes sense LOL – your toes have to work a bit harder in a wood-sole, open-back shoe…
LOL thanks Grechen! Yes I am new to clogs completely 🙂 Okay I will let them work harder thank you!
I like your new denim jacket and I love that you are in love with it!!! Yes to adding more purchases like that to your wardrobe.
I find searching for the “right” denim jacket to be on par with finding the right pair of jeans. I have one that’s several years old. I paid maybe $15 for it at the Gap outlet. I remember thinking I don’t know how much wear I’m going to get out of it at the time but it’s been one of my best purchases.
I think it’s quite flattering on you, honestly. The vertical seaming on denim jackets is slimming and the way you styled it is perfect (I know I dissed the clogs the other day, but they are perfect with this. It’s the tee/clog combo that works for my jaded “eye”! 😉 ). Very perfect!!
haha! i hear you – i like clogs better with jeans usually, or a long skirt. i mean…really, though i love clogs with everything, but i think they’re not as great with harem pants. too much craziness all in one outfit LOL
after i found and ordered the jacket, i was like – oh! that would have been a good thing to search thrift shops for! but then it was too late. not that i can’t still thrift one, but i do love this one. and i’m happy that i got it (and am not returning it) just because i love it.
