Valentino Rockstud crosssbody bag | purchased with credits I earn in partnership with Forzieri
I’ve worn this James Perse jacket nearly every day since I got it for my birthday. It’s that good. And here I thought I wasn’t a jacket person. To be honest, I’m still feeling out this “new” body of mine, and I don’t always know how to dress it. Lately, I’ve been wanting to cover it more – I still find my hips/saddlebags VERY frustrating – but since I got this jacket, I’ve been experimenting with showing my waist/body a bit more, and I might actually like it. We should all show off our bodies a little more, I think…
A few other random notes on this Friday:
I got the Valentino bag a while ago with credits I earn from Forzieri, but I didn’t start trying to carry it until a few days ago. I LOVE it, and thought it would be great for traveling (I love a smaller crossbody for travel), but it’s not ideal for every day. It’s pretty small for daily use – for me anyway – and sort of a pain if you get in and out of the car a lot, which is what I do when I’m out running errands or whatever. It would be great for city walking, etc., though, if you’re so inclined.
Of course I ordered the new wool chunky knit cardigan from Everlane, in Ivory, no less. I don’t have a white/ivory sweater, and thought I might like to add one to my wardrobe, and you know how big an Everlane fan I am. I got the sweater last night, and my first impression through the plastic was that it was cheap looking. I think that’s just the ivory color, honestly, but I couldn’t shake that. Then I tried it on, and it was just okay. It didn’t fit me very well (I got a medium) – it was big up top and sort of tapered in at the hips, because you know, I have hips.
I did like that it was heavy, and warm, but the fit was off. I was tempted to try the chunky knit raglan sleeve pullover, but I don’t normally like an open neckline like that for winter. I am a big fan of the wool; it was soft and cozy, but finding a style that fits my body might be a challenge. So I think I’ll pass for now. Did anyone get any Everlane chunky knit pieces? What did you think?
Also, you’re probably aware that Sephora F&F started yesterday if you’re a VIB. I’ve been waiting for this, and saving up my “discretionary” money. But as you also probably know, $75 at Sephora doesn’t get you much…even with 20% off! I went in yesterday and got only exactly what I needed, and came in under budget:
I only bought the Julep nail treatment (it’s pretty much all I wear on my nails lately), FormulaX cuticle eraser and Living Proof leave-in conditioner. I was DYING to buy the Marc Jacobs nail polish (you can see a sample of it on my thumb in the picture above!), but didn’t. I also got a sample of the CoverFX calming primer to see if that will help with my redness.
After reading the reviews on the Living Proof conditioner, I think I’ll take it back. I need a new conditioner, and like a leave-in as long as it doesn’t weigh my hair down, but I’m not sure I NEED a leave-in. I have such a problem with fly aways that I thought this might help. Has anyone tried it? I think I’d rather try Alterna, since it seems to be highly recommended…
Also, if you have any points, I LIVE for the Origins Ginzing eye cream, and it’s a 100-point perk this month. I had 300 points so I convinced the SA to give me three samples. They last FOREVER, so I can continue to be cheap and not buy the full-size version (the samples always end up as perks whenever I need them!).
What are you buying at Sephora? Any recommendations?
Oh! I ordered the Warby Parker Webb glasses this week. Dark won out! I went back to try both pairs on again, and the crystal just didn’t do anything for me this time. And they do have a very specific look – like I would love them with my harem pants, or anything sort of artsy-chic, but not with my Hope Trousers, for example. Thanks so much for all your input, it helped a lot!
Have a great weekend! happy friday 🙂
