Everlane long cashmere turtleneck (mine is an older style) |
here’s a great secondhand Inhabit cashmere turtleneck!!

The back of my neck and my feet are the most sensitive parts of my bodies to heat/cold. If I’m too hot in bed, all I need to do is stick a bare foot out from under the covers, and instant cool down. If I’m cold, all I usually need to do is pull everything up over my neck. Of course nowadays Dagny is sleeping almost on top of me (curled up next to my belly) so I stay pretty warm at night. haha.
Nothing keeps me warmer than a turtleneck sweater though. This one specifically is really good; I got it before Everlane launched their “$100 cashmere” and (in my opinion anyway) the cashmere quality went down. It’s a fuzzy mess, but I don’t care, I enjoy a lived-in sweater! I also have an alpaca turtleneck by Beklina I love (If you use my referral link to Garmentory you’ll get a $20 account credit and so will I!). I’m partial to alpaca now anyway, because I find it a bit warmer, and it’s gentler on the environment and the animals than cashmere.
I have nothing else significant to report today except I’m getting my hair cut (finally), so I can stop pulling it back all the time. Oh, and if anyone has any EXCELLENT oatmeal cookie recipes (I’m partial to vegan and/or alternative sweeteners, but I’m being much more flexible now) to share, I’d love to hear them. I’m still eating all the cookies.
Thank you for the link to the Inhabit sweater – I’m very tempted… Take care
Enjoy the haircut! I had mine cut Tuesday – it was the “chop” part of my 2-3 yr grow/chop cycle. Went from breast length & a tangly limp mess to mid-neck, lots of body bob….My ponytail is pathetic again, but I can wear my hair down 😉
No oatmeal cookie recipes, but have you considered baked oatmeal for breakfast? I bring my breakfast to work and normally do an egg casserole on Sunday for the entire week, but every so often I’ll do a baked oatmeal instead – I like steel cut oats, almond/coconut milk & some egg whites. Of course, I also like this peanut butter & chocolate chip option that is a dessert (and I don’t like sweet stuff much and really not in the morning!) https://www.lemontreedwelling.com/trailside-treat-baked-oatmeal/
Is that Beklina alpaca turtleneck see through? Also, they only have s/m sizing and as a true XS I wonder if it will be too big on me? Other than that it looks lovely.
Yes! It’s sheer so I always wear a tee underneath unless I’m wearing it under a jumpsuit. Then I don’t care…
And it will probably be too big on you. It’s a little bigger on me than I’d like in the s/m. Sorry 🙁
I love that sweater!!! If you don’t get it I might 😉
Someone got the Inhabit sweater (not me) but I now have two gray alpaca (or alpaca blend) sweaters that I’m considering (and that would replace a wool cardigan I’ve decided I don’t really like).
I do the same thing with my foot at night!
Me, too! (And also noticed that the sweater is gone!) No oatmeal cookies, but I’m DYING over the recipe for “Kitchen Sink Cookies” from The NY Times.
Ah!! who got the sweater??
i was browsing alpaca sweaters there too. the problem is that most are blends, and i don’t have a problem with 100% alpaca. although it is always more expensive.
Oopsie! I bought it!! Sorry! Well not really, haha!
Haha! Yay you 🙂
Here is an oatmeal cookie recipe that I haven’t made in years. It’s from Harvest in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA back when they had a casual take out counter. Apparently they published a calendar in 1994 (I just dug out the recipe from my files) and these cookies are “Miss February” . Sorry, they are neither vegan nor with an alternative sweetener.
3/4 lb butter @room temp
2/3 c sugar
1 1/3 c brown sugar
3 eggs
1 T vanilla
1 tsp ground cloves
1 T cinnamon
1 T allspice
1 T powdered ginger
2 1/4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
A few grinds of pepper
4 1/2 c old fashioned rolled oats
3/4 c crystallized ginger – chopped
1 c raisins
Mix and bake at 350
I think I only made these once, in 1994, so I can’t 100% vouch for the recipe as usually in would walk into Harvard Square and buy just one cookie instead of making dozens. But at your mention of oatmeal cookies I hopped in my wayback machine and immediately thought of these. Man, were they good. I need to make them again!
THANK YOU!!!!
love that they have ginger in them!!!!
