Necklace by Margot Wolf
Well, it’s officially hot as hell. Yesterday I wasn’t quite sure it was hot enough for a sleeveless dress, so I wore leggings, a cami and long cardigan with my Dieppa Restrepo loafers and wanted to DIE from the heat. I was down on South Congress with a friend for the Margot Wolf trunk show at By George, so luckily we were able to duck in and out of shops enough times to recover from our heat exhaustion. But still.
Speaking of Margot Wolf, if you follow Grechen’s Closet on Facebook, you will know already that the necklace I’ve been wearing by an “unknown designer” is actually by Margot Wolf. I met her a few years ago and love her work, but didn’t recognize the necklace as hers. And now, after the trunk show yesterday, I’m obsessed with this scorpion necklace, among other things. Her designs are amazing, and exactly my style.
What’s the weather like where you are? Hot enough yet??
Have a great weekend!!!
Flew home from Austin yesterday so I think I missed the start of the “bad” weather – I definitely wore cotton knit dresses (short & long) when out and about. I LIVE in (mostly) knit dresses from April – October (I live in NC). Throw on a cardigan because the office will be chilly, and that’s my work wardrobe. So easy to get dressed in the morning!
Yesterday was our first over 90 degree day – generally from now until December I’ll wear dresses and sandals.
You should be Glad you got out of here when you did LOL
You look amazing in that dress! Now the hunt is on as I must have though it will not look nearly as great on my not quite tall enough self.
it would be great on you – you’re not shorter than i am…are you?
It’s so incredibly hot here in Raleigh it just saps any desire to put on clothes and leave the house. Today I wore a StyleMint tee and some Splendid loose capri thingys. Not the greatest outfit, but I was comfortable.
I’ve been looking for a maxi dress just like the one you have on here. The cowl and the color are great!
I LOVE that dress on you. And it is perfect with the Jill Sander sandals. I still cannot believe you got those at a thrift store! Didn’t you say the necklace was thrifted, too? What a find, if so! I checked out Margot Wolf’s page and she’s got some great pieces. It was beautiful here today, sunny, a light breeze and around mid 70’s. For me, that’s perfect!
I am SO jealous of any complaining of the heat. Here in Dublin it has been chilly. We had some sun yesterday and for the first time this year I wore sandals. My feet are so white they have a blue tinge. Its cold again this morning and I’m back in jeans, jumper and socks. Beautiful dress. Love grey with orange.
I love this post. You look great, and I love the color combo.
How do you like Splendid dresses compared to James Perse and Soft Joie?
I have some Splendid tops but were never sure about the fit of the Splendid dresses.
i love splendid dresses, but i do think they tend to run a little on the small side, although some JP dresses run a bit small too, especially the fitted/ruched ones. it depends also on your body type though – i am hippy, so things tend to be very snug on me through the hips, where they wouldn’t be on others. and larger on the top.
overall though, i am pleased so far with splendid dresses.
