So here’s my first pair of Goldsign jeans – the Desire flare – which I bought in January 2006. Until I tried Goldsign, I had never found a pair of jeans that fit my hips/butt as well as these. There is absolutely NO gap at the waist, and the leg fits perfectly. My J brand kat jeans fit my waist as well as these, but that was only after alteration…
I feel like the wash is really dated on these, but I really love the heavier and less-stretchy denim. I’ll still wear them, because they’re incredibly comfortable, but I really long for darker denim now, and a more uniform wash. When I bought these, of course strategic fading and interesting effects were all the rage in premium denim. Now, I know that dark, uniform washes are the MOST flattering on me, but they still seem hard to find. Other than skinny jeans. Which I CANNOT DO – I try on some straight or narrow bootcut styles and can’t even get them over my calves, let alone the skinny ones!
I do still like the flared leg style, but think I tend to look taller/thinner wearing bootcut, or straight. Or maybe I’m just imagining that. What denim cut/style do you find most flattering for you?

honestly, sometimes it’s called large, and sometimes it’s called medium..I really believe this one is the medium, but it’s the same dimensions as the one i linked to at shopbop. i had a large one a few years ago and it was VERY LARGE. he may have phased out that size and now the one i have is “large” but it’s hard to say. if you go by shopbop’s terminology, then yes, my bag is the large one – the dimensions are exactly the same.

the only negative with goldsign is the price. but if you can suck it up in the beginning, they’ll be WELL worth it over time. all 3 pairs still fit like they’re brand new.
Flared/bootcut. I haven’t worn a pair of skinny jeans ever. Tried them one once. I’m too short-legged and they make me look like a bowling pin. I have a pair of Goldsign trouser jeans. The fit is really wonderful, although I put on a few pounds and then the wonderful fit got a little too tight…
