It is well LA maxi cardigan (s/m)

Robert Clergerie sneakers | several years old
Whoa. This little man is four months old!!
If I actually want to publish this post (which I started writing on Sunday), I’ll have to keep it short and sweet 🙂
Mostly I want to rave about my recent purchase from It is Well L.A. (yes, I indulged in a little BF/CM shopping): this maxi cardigan and a mockneck sweater. I had a boxy sweater of theirs come through for slowre, which I bought myself, but I had never had any direct dealings with the company until now. I placed the order for the maxi cardigan in size m/l and the pullover in medium, and got a lovely note from them clarifying the fit of the two items and asking if wanted to change my order. I did, and I’m so glad! I can’t say enough how pleased I was to get such a note about sizing; it made all the difference for me.
The maxi cardigan definitely runs large, so I’m very happy I went with the s/m instead; I’ve worn this cardigan most days since I got it (It’s been quite warm here) and am so excited about it. It’s like I’m wearing my robe out of the house, but better, because I don’t even like my robe this much haha! I went with a size large in the mockneck sweater and I’m glad I did because the medium would have been too small, and not as long as I wanted it to be. Honestly I haven’t worn the pullover at all yet, but I’m really not wearing anything but cardigans now since I’m breastfeeding. Perhaps I should have sent it back, but I love it, and hope I’ll wear it some time.
I’ve been wearing these jeans + cardigan and various tees underneath every day lately – I just need things that are super-easy and comfortable. Hawk and I go out once a day, usually in the mornings, as a way to break up the day and add a little excitement; he loves to walk around stores and just look at people and things. And I am happy to be getting dressed again – I feel a bit more like myself every day. Well, except the body pain. But I’m starting physical therapy soon and I really hope that helps.
Okay, Hawk has had enough watching videos of himself…time for a change of scenery! Until next time!
What a cutie!
You both look fantastic!
Omg what an incredibly sweet face! He is just fascinating, I love looking at him!
I meant to reply to your previous post but I’ve had pneumonia, blah! Re: body pain post-pregnancy…it’s just incredible and bizarre, isn’t it?? Pregnancy must just be so hard on our bodies. I never had body pain to speak of, other than a stiff neck occasionally from sleeping wrong etc. I had been doing yoga for about a year before my 2nd pregnancy, was a healthy weight and thought “this will be a walk in the park.” Uh. No. My body was just destroyed by that second pregnancy. I don’t get it, I was only 2 years older, ostensibly in better physical shape than I was for my 1st preg, *and* I gained less weight. But here I am, 16 months postpartum, and I have back pain when I never did before, some residual sacroiliac joint paint (though thankfully it definitely has diminished after as the months have passed), constant stiffness and just an “old” feeling that my body did NOT have before this journey. I am so glad you’re doing physical therapy — I hadn’t realized that was an option but it might be a good one for me too! xoxo
Hawk is so adorable and sweet! Love his face and hair. You are looking great Gretchen and so happy!!! Have a wonderful holiday season!
Yay for PT! I had an unexpected C-Section and PT has been a lifesaver. She does scar massage, pelvic floor stuff, and even does cupping on my arms and upper back (so stiff from holding a baby all day). My son was born just a few weeks before yours, so it’s been fun to read about your postpartum journey.
That photo of Hawk sitting up is to die for. He’s such a character. Even though you’re in a very different place life wise to me right now, I so appreciate your openness and honesty about your journey. Your thoughts and reflections really give me perspective where I need it on my own stuff . It’s lovely to see the joys and well as the struggles. Wishing you and your gorgeous babe a very happy holiday season and all the best into the next decade.
Oh… my… God, Hawk is even more adorable than before!
You look more like yourself, FWIW, and he looks more like a person and less like a baby. All good momentum:).
That boy is the cutest and I love your outfit – very “you”
Hawk is super cute and you look fantastic! Please continue to post when you can. You have many followers who appreciate your insight when you are able and have time to share.
Take care,
Juli
I don’t know how I missed this! (Christmas stress and frenzy, perhaps?) You are looking happy and comfortable with being a mom, like it’s all clicking. I hope you get to the bottom of the body pain. I’m in a similar boat but for entirely different reasons. Hawk is just so precious!
Grechen, I wish to congratulate you on being a Mother to such a wonderful little child !!!
Hawk is a fantastic, unique name and full of character 🙂
It is lovely to see your recent fashion finds, and I continue to read your posts as well.
I have not been on this site for some time ( but sure am glad I checked it today) !!!
Lorraine 🙂
thank you so much 🙂
