I posted this on Instagram yesterday on my way out the door to run errands, hence Dagny’s look – “I’m not going too?”
I should wear this Harper sweater more often – I really love it, and I hate that it’s not available anymore. But as I’ve mentioned before, it has to be not too cold, or not too hot to be comfortable for me, which it was yesterday. Whenever I wear it, I entertain notions of buying the Harper long sleeve tunic in black raw silk, to round out my Harper wardrobe, as it were. One for every season…
Speaking of Elizabeth Suzann, did anyone else snag the Rhodes mockneck sweater they re-launched today ? I did! And there are still some left available, actually, which never happens when they re-launch something this popular. I ordered the charcoal in medium, which I hope does not turn out to be a mistake. I waffled between the medium and small, but ended up with the medium because I’d like to be able to layer it comfortably over dresses & tees, and I don’t want it to be TOO short. I had hoped the Everlane cashmere mockneck sweater would be a good pullover layer, but the fit is just too “off” on me for it to be my go-to (look for it on slowre later this week!); I wanted it to be more “boxy” than it was, and the neckline was too constricting.
Anyway, if the Rhodes sweater doesn’t work out, I’ll use the store credit to get the long sleeve harper tunic, or the emma kimono, ugh. Can’t decide……
Happy Wednesday!!
Love this look on you, Grechen – yes to the Harper tunic ! And waffling on the Rhodes mock neck because I am tall and afraid it will be way too short on me.
LOVE the mockneck, but i always feel like the knit will be too delicate for me. so pretty though. I always have to consider how careful i need to be around my dog in the clothes i’m wearing. Speaking of which, got my florence pants in navy silk and love them (and the fact that they’re washable) – got the regular length and i’m 5’4″, which seems perfect. Still debating whether linen would better hold up against my dog and casual lifestyle, but I like that silk can be dressed up or down. How have your silk pants held up – if you still have them, that is?
p.s. ES should really provide exact measurements for all of their garments online. esp given the turnaround time for responses via email.
i gave my silk pants to my sister – they were just too small on me in the hips 🙁 i still want a pair though, but i would probably go for the large, short instead of the medium short…from just having/wearing them for a little while, they seemed like they would hold up really nicely though. i think we think that silk is way more delicate than it really is…
I got a Rhodes sweater months ago in Eggshell in M, and I found that it was way tighter than I thought it would be (I am usually S or M) — or just tighter than I wanted, as I wanted it to fit like the model. When I found out they were restocking, I reached out, and they yesterday they shipped a Rhodes in Charcoal in a L to me immediately after I contacted them, no questions asked, and I didn’t even have to stalk their website this morning to try to snag one for myself! Can’t beat their customer service.
I hope you like the M! I’m still debating whether I should keep mine in Eggshell (I’ll see how I feel when I get the Charcoal), but I think I’d like a looser fit, and I always worry about getting white clothes dirty… I’m on a “no buying black” goal for the year, but hey, if I know I’ll wear the charcoal more than the eggshell, then it’s worth breaking my fast for, no?
Almost ordered the Rhodes in Charcoal but decided to hold out for the warm weather collection!
Dagny and those ears! 🙂
Just too short in the body for my tastes…that and the fact that stupid hot flashes lend to a “no mock or turtle neck” for me LOL…
I meant the Rhodes Mick Neck Sweater. Not the Harper tunic!,
