First, if you’re not up to date, please read last Friday’s post. Spoiler: I’m pregnant (8.5 weeks).
Moving on…I have finally felt sort of normal the last several days. I bought these psi acupressure bands on Friday and have been wearing them nonstop since then. I’m not sure they’re really helping; they definitely didn’t at first, but now that I’m feeling a bit better, maybe they are? And now I’m afraid to take them off. I’ve also got a more consistent “food schedule” down now, which helps. It’s so counterintuitive to me to EAT when I’m feeling sick, but I know now that it makes me feel better.
But can we just talk about clothes for a sec? I’m having such a hard time getting dressed lately. Of course I’m exaggerating, because I have plenty of things to wear, and I haven’t gained any weight yet. But I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING TOUCHING MY BODY and I am really tired of wearing all my current elastic waist pants all the time. I miss my jeans, but don’t. I love wearing jeans! But the idea of wearing anything with buttons or a zipper, or without any stretch right now is a non-starter.
So these overalls are a decent compromise I suppose – they should fit for a while. All my clothes fit, but I would be so much more comfortable if it was warmer and I could wear dresses and skirts. It’s miserably cold here 🙁
I did appreciate “time off” the last couple of weeks, but I’m also really happy that the holidays are over. I like my work week, what can I say? I love my routine and I’m going to appreciate the hell out of it for the next however many months I can. Because then…well, everything will change!
wow wow wow! Happy New Year and congratulations !!!!!! Yes still following you : )
Healthy happy wonderful New Year, Grechen! Those overalls are adorable, and I love them with the cozy funnel neck. Overalls and jumpers that you can wear over snuggly pieces seem like they’d be the most helpful at this time. I’m really looking forward to seeing the cute pregnancy outfits I know you’ll be coming up with. I’m not sure if you read my comment last time, but I’m so happy for you. Mazel tov again!
xoxo
I too am still following you. Such exciting news! Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy!
What a cute and stylish mama you’re going to be!
All the love and blessings!
I’m looking for ways to style my EF linen overalls—you have posted a summer look with them, and I wonder if you might create a fun outfit to wear this time of year? All the best to you, always!
Hi Laurel! I actually don’t have those anymore, but i would totally wear them over a turtleneck cashmere sweater – IF i wore linen in the winter. haha for some reason, i just can’t do it; in my head linen is a strictly summer fabric. But if you do, i think they’d be cute over sweaters and with ankle boots, clog boots, or oxfords. and then throw a jacket on top!
I’m like you, thinking that linen=summer. I think that’s part of my problem, along with another “thought” that I cling to: dark colors are for winter, light colors are for summer. So, the dark gray linen is a bit of a quandary for me. I do have some clog boots, and I think I can drag up a fairly lightweight dark turtleneck, I’ll see if that’s magic. Thanks again, I’m sorry you parted with your overalls, I really have been watching for them to reappear in different outfits. I think you only showed them once.
