Outfit: J Brand Kat Jeans – Blue denim

WEARING:
J Brand Kat Jeans (lighter wash)
L’Agence tee
Anthropologie cropped boy blazer
Rachel Comey clogs
Jerome Dreyfuss billy bag

Here’s my second pair of J Brand jeans, they’re the same style as the ones yesterday, but in a blue denim instead of black. I like the black wash better; it’s more slimming, and the denim on that pair is much softer. I can’t complain about these though, I got them altered to fix the gap in the waist, and the length is just perfect. I kinda wish they were darker though. Has anyone ever dyed denim? Either to make it a darker blue, or black? I could totally get on board with that…

And this blazer I’ve had for several months, but have never worn it. I’m trying to decide if I should keep it or not, honestly. It was cheap, and it fits, but every time I reach for it and put it on, I take it off again!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! If you’re in Austin or anywhere near, please come to the hunt.gather.style vintage pop-up shop tomorrow – Sharon, Sydney and I are SO EXCITED and would love to meet you :)

Well, tell the rest of us, Sharon! We have no secrets here at GC. :)

I think the jacket looks adorable, but if you never reach for it, it isn’t contributing to your streamlined closet goal.

From what I understand, denim dyes black very well, but it’s harder to overdye something a genuine dark-denim blue. It always looks more like a the color of, say, navy chinos. Maybe a deep aubergine would be nice?

ha! sharon picked it out for me and basically FORCED me to buy it. so she loves it ;) no, she didn’t really force me to buy it.
but you’re right carolyn, i’d rather not have it in my closet if i won’t reach for it constantly…

thanks for the suggestion on dying – i might try black, if i work up the nerve LOL. i’m a wimp when it comes to that.

I love the jacket with the outfit–it seems like a very “professional casual” outfit, if that makes sense. I’d keep it, just because situations calling for a navy blazer might come up. Great that you got the jeans tailored, but I have never spent enough on my jeans to make it worth having them altered. Although, I just bought my first pair of Paige’s!

Those jeans look fantastic on you. The fit is fabulous; the color is great. Don’t do a thing to them. Just wear them.

I think the jacket looks really good on you, but If you think it’s not your style…it’s your closet : )

Both black and blue are great colors for denims. I don’t have experience on dying them yet, I was too scared to try. Anyway, you look great and as always I love your style.
