Okay, you guys know my history with Black Crane; I seem to be constantly buying and selling it. I love the brand, and the silhouettes, but over time, I just don’t wear it, or realize it’s just no good for me. Yet…I keep trying. I can’t help it.
A few weeks ago a bud dress in size medium came through for slowre and I considered buying it for myself it I loved it so much. But I thought I’d rather try the small first, and when it went on sale at Garmentory last weekend, I bought this. I love the plum color; it’s a deep purple gray, and the size is great on me – the perfect length I think. Yes, it widens significantly at the hips, which takes a lot to get used to, but I think I conquered that with my Elizabeth Suzann Clyde pants. AND, I discovered if you wear a long sweater or jacket over the dress, the hips are minimized so it looks like a “normal” dress.
I wore this yesterday and was a bit warm outside (it was mid 60’s) but otherwise really comfortable. Since I have an SUV now though, I had to hike the dress up to get into the car since it’s slimmer at the knee and I have to step up. That was fun 😉
I hope you’re having a good week!!
Wow, that dress is gorgeous and I love the colour!
I worry about a dress like this constricting at the knee like you described climbing in the car. Is it problematic for walking?
Nope! Super easy to walk in regularly – just have to remember to hike it up to get in the car ?
I LOVE Black Crane. I have a quilted sweater in an olive color from 2-3 seasons ago that is still one of my favorite winter sweaters. I’m glad you found a piece that worked for you! I’m always plotting to buy one of their dresses but haven’t pulled the trigger yet 🙂
