Outfit: To Belt, or Not To Belt

by grechen on July 30, 2010 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

This time it’s for real; I decided to keep the skirt, but I also ordered the black version of the other Anthropologie skirt I love ;) My question is, do I belt it? or not belt it?

I’m torn…the belt plays up my smaller waist, but I think it also accentuates how big my hips are…what do you think?

What I’m Wearing:

Skirt from Anthropologie
James Perse casual tee
Swedish Hasbeens clogs
Alexander Wang darcy hobo

I prefer it with the belt! It’s a lovely colour skirt.

belt!!! it looks lovely with it + adds more color, which i love. also, your hips don’t look big with the belt. no need to worry about that! only a silly person would focus on one part of a woman’s body when looking at her, anyway!

Love the belt. It makes the outfit.

Belt it! :) Makes the outfit more interesting & gives you the more hourglass shape by emphasizing the waist!

Both look good; belted looks more refined.

BELT!!!! More polished and it accentuates your waist in a beautiful way!

Much better with the belt! No brainer. Also, the James Perse t looks much better with the skirt than the gray top you initially had on with the skirt.

Belt! Definitely Belt!! If I had your waistline, I’d always wear a belt (I’m just one big rectangle). And I have to say, I agree with Carla: I love this JP tee with it because it gives your body more definition and shows off that waist . Keep the skirt–supercute!

Your use of the brown belt does accentuate your smaller waist, and makes your hips look proportionally curvy. It’s a very good look!

I’m glad you decided to keep it!
The belt is perfect with it, it adds some needed texture!

Definitely go with the belt – it looks so cute and finishes the outfit!

I don’t think the belt accentuates your hips, and it certainly flatters your waist. Very nice, and love the bright color of the skirt!
