Okay. So I might have finally got the hang of ankle boots. First, they finally feel all stretched out and soft, so they’re very comfortable to wear. Second, I have accepted that I will NEVER look like a Shopbop model wearing ankle boots, so there’s that. And that’s okay. 😉
On to the jeans. Unfortunately the style I’m wearing is sold out at Nordstrom, but this other pair is nearly identical, just without the distressing. !iT collective was kind enough to send me a pair to try out, and I’ve definitely been trying them out!! I’ve worn them countless times since I received them a few weeks ago and am always impressed at how great they feel and hold me in. They are more of a legging jean on me, so I always make sure my ass is covered with a long tank or cardigan. I’m wearing a size 29, and I could have sized down if I wanted them to be even more snug around my waist/hips, but then they’d be WAAY too tight on my legs. They’re not exactly ankle-length on me; they’re full-length, but I haven’t washed them yet (I wash my jeans about every 5-6 wears…), so they may shrink up a bit in the length. Although the washing instructions recommend dry cleaning. These could stand to shrink just a teeny bit though, so I’ll probably wash them and hang to dry.
Overall, I’m pleased with the jeans (they’re made in the US) and will definitely try a different style next time I’m at Nordstrom. The price point is PERFECT at just under $100 also, so I highly recommend them.
Oh, and check out this picture from just about a year ago when I proclaimed I “can’t do ankle boots” – how long I’ve come 😉 sort-of…
This one nails it! Love, love, love.
LOVE the way this outfit looks on you. You’ve got it girl!
thanks so much cheryl 🙂
thanks amy! finally…sheesh!!! 🙂
I love it! Great job putting this together (and persevering with the ankle booties). I really want to try those jeans, but Nordstrom says they are not planning to restock…bummer as it seems they are only available at Nordstrom and the reviews are glowing! Hope they bring in a similar style…
julie, there are some styles at zappos, not very “good” ones though i’m afraid LOL – i do like the look of the boyfriend jeans – http://www.zappos.com/-it-collective-women-clothing~1?zfcTest=sis%3A1 – i love the jeans, they’re quite comfortable, and again, for the amount of stretch they have, they do wonders at keeping all my jiggly bits held in 😉
I LOVE this outfit on you! And you totally ROCK the ankle boots! I looked back at the pic from last year, and there are not only the physical changes, obviously, but you appear to have gained in self-confidence. Just the way you look AT the camera instead of away from it. You are really coming into your own. (I tell you, 40 did it for me!) I’m proud of you for taking chances…even if it’s clothes! (not to mention moving again)
I agree with MV. I’m starting to change my mind about ankle boots. Maybe after the holidays, I’ll find an appropriate pair on sale.
