I got this James Perse skirt a few weeks ago and have worn it a lot whenever it’s warm enough, and today it’s in the mid-80’s. I’m completely in love with it, not only because it’s made from recycled cotton, but the color is great, and it hangs beautifully. It’s cling-y around the hips, but all James Perse skirts/dresses are. It’s also a bit see-through, so I generally just wear my Spanx boyshorts underneath and that takes care of the cling-y-ness as well as the see-through. I haven’t washed it yet, and I will admit I’m a bit nervous about that. I think I’ll wash on delicate in cold water and hang to dry.
Anyway, I can’t recommend this skirt highly enough – it’s available in gray on the James Perse website, which I’m also tempted to get once it goes on sale. I think the fit is super-flattering; I love the way it flares out at the bottom!!
Thanks for all of your input and great discussion on body image issues this week. All of the comments were so insightful & helpful, I look forward to more (hopefully positive) discussions in the future 🙂 I’m going to continue working on creating a more positive dialogue in my head, but I’m so glad we can have an adult, frank discussion about body image and self-esteem issues here. Every woman struggles with these things, why not struggle together?
Have a great weekend!!
