I am not doing any “official” SXSW stuff, but I am going downtown to the W hotel this afternoon for a meeting and to see my friend Pamela. Naturally, I’ve been stressing about what to wear since Friday; since I am decidedly non-fashiony, I concern myself with trying to look fashion-y when I know I’m going to be around fashion-y people. Which is silly, I know, and I finally figured out this morning. Above all, I want to look like me, and be comfortable, so this is what I chose to wear. To be truthful, I was wearing my Dieppa Restreppo loafers up until a few minutes ago, but I’ve decided to wear my Robert Clergerie wedges instead. I like the look of the loafers, since they feed into to the general boy/girl feel of the outfit, but these wedges give an air of excitement, lend something a little different to the outfit, which I wanted. And they’re comfortable. Not as comfortable as flats, of course, but I’m not doing a lot of walking if I can help it, so I’ll be okay 😉
Happy Monday 🙂
Love the wedges…I think they make your legs look LONG! And the sweater/cardi/jacket…SO cute! A recent H & M purchase? I tried one on that GAP was featuring for fall, but it made me look “Grandma-ish.” It’s one thing to BE a Grandma, quite another to LOOK like one! This one looks way less boxy than the one from GAP. I like that “Chanel-esque” look. Good for you being YOU! That’s called authentic living. <3
You look great! That outfit is “fashion-y” but still looks like you (and I would consider you fashion-y anyways, just not crazy clashy in-your-face fashion-y). I die for your yellow bbag. And your hair looks really pretty, I like the length & the bangs.
yes, it’s new H&M – i love it, the trim is faux leather, and it’s chanel-y without being matronly (i think anyway…) and has a nice cut to it. i do kind of wish it has a closure, but i may add a snap or something in the front to make it fitted when i want to
thank you 🙂
i’m liking my hair right now, i’m going to grow it out about an inch or two more and that’ll be it i think.
it’s funny about the bbag – i haven’t worn it in a while, and it’s kind of not practical for me, because the longer strap that came with it wasn’t long enough, and i don’t like to carry bags by hand anymore, so i did what i did to my JD billy bag and added a long shoulder strap from another bag and viola! it’s a new, better bag! i love that!!! this bag is so beat up, i got it secondhand for a STEAL, but i do love how it adds color to my outfits, in just the right way…
Not matronly at all with the way you styled it. Fresh and clean!
You look good! Just the right touch of fashion-y:).
thanks lisa! i was very happy with that outfit!
