Outfit: So warm

WEARING
HELMUT leggings
H&M skirt
Hanes tee
Inhabit cashmere sweater
No6 Clogs
Jas M.B. bag (mine has different hardware and is quilted, but is the same style/size as the one in the link)

The weather in Austin is amazing; we were running the air conditioning Wednesday, and last night had the down comforter back out and the heat on. But again, I’m not complaining ;) At least when it does get cold here, it doesn’t STAY cold for long.

Yesterday it was cold and windy during the day so I pulled out this very old Inhabit cashmere sweater. It’s one of my favorites, but because it doesn’t get very cold here, I haven’t worn it in a few years. It’s double layered cashmere; kind of a faux short-sleeve over long layered look, with a cowl neck and a kangaroo pocket in the front. It’s INCREDIBLY warm, so I have to choose carefully when I wear it. Yesterday was a good day for it.

And may I rave again for my HELMUT leggings, and H&M skirt? This outfit could easily verge into 90′s territory (just add docs), and there’s nothing wrong with that, but I tried to keep it a bit more modern with my No6 Clogs (as opposed, also, to my dansko clogs). Actually, the 90′s wasn’t such a bad decade for me…

I’m so happy I re-discovered leggings (at least the more substantial ones) and have learned how to wear them comfortably AND appropriately ;)

You totally inspired me with your leggings/miniskirt combo! I’ve been wearing it with my tops that I feel are just a bit too short for leggings and I’m LOVING it. You are a genius!! PS- I miss you friend. Lunch in the new year??

It doesn’t seem too 90′s at all to me. I think leggings under a skirt is a very fresh look to my fashion “eye.” I like the leggings under a dress thing, too. It works for me, as long as my rear view has coverage. And I love that you don’t wear something once and toss it. That would be SO wasteful. (Plus, it’s great to know which brands hold up and which don’t!).

i don’t know why it feels 90′s to me..maybe it’s just the leggings? although i didn’t wear leggings the last time they were “a thing”
i’m just picturing my outfit with doc martins, or flat boots. THAT is 90′s LOL – but so comfortable!

Hi Grechen! Love your blog, and must credit you for my love of Alexander Wang Rocco bags! HA! You were there for me on my mad quest for the perfect one and where to get it on sale. Thank you for keeping us up to date on the sales. And I agree about cashmere–one of my favorite fabrics, but one must know when to wear it….it can get very hot, no? Hoping you have a wonderful Christmas!
