Shopbop is great about noting where items are made, but not always about fabric content. Specifically most of Mara Hoffman’s cotton pieces are made from organic cotton (in keeping with her recent commitment to sustainability), and quite a few of her swimsuits are made from recycled polyester, but you wouldn’t know it just from browsing Shopbop. Good thing I am newly obsessed with Mara Hoffman and frequently checking her site for new arrivals or markdowns (wishful thinking haha! that temple coat I posted about last year – or earlier this year? – never seemed to get marked down in my size), so am pretty familiar with the pieces and what they’re made of.
Anyway, Shopbop* is offering 20% off orders under $500 or 25% off orders over $500 this week with code STOCKUP18 and I ordered this hot pink corduroy jacket by Mara Hoffman, which is made from organic cotton:
WHOA. that is a lot of color!! but I love it 🙂
The corduroy jacket will be my first Mara Hoffman piece, and I’m excited to try the brand. I applaud her efforts to completely reinvent her company’s processes from the ground up a few years ago to be more sustainable and I look forward to supporting it. Seems a fitting way for me to reinvent my style towards embracing more colors that make me smile…
Of course a Shopbop coupon code is also an excellent opportunity to stock up on James Perse (my favorite tee), Rachel Comey, and other great made in the US brands. I did also order the Buxton jumpsuit by Rachel Comey, in indigo, size 6:
I had one come through for slowre in charcoal and it was a bit too small, but I could tell that it would fit me nicely in my size; her pieces are so unique, and really seem to be made to fit well and be practical for life. The key, of course, is nailing down the right size for a particular garment, quite a few of her pieces run a size large.
Oh, I also ordered this mid-heel pair of No6 clogs because I’ve been feeling the lack of a No6 clog in my wardrobe recently…
And the Johnny jumpsuit!!
Has anyone else tried Mara Hoffman? What do you think of her pieces? Will you order anything with the Shopbop code? (the code isn’t public on the site yet, but it is valid on items marked “Key Style” on the site!!)
*I display a widget from Shopbop on my site(s) and in return receive credit in my account there monthly. I try to save it up for these big sales 🙂
