My Virginia Johnson Shawl

I haven’t done an official review of this yet, but I got this Virginia Johnson scarf several weeks ago and I have hardly been able to take it off. I lusted after the Camel print scarf last year, and regretted not buying it after seeing it at Barney’s Co-Op. It kept haunting me; I had other opportunities to buy it, but had a hard time justifying the price. So, when I had to return an itchy sweater to Barney’s I got for my birthday, I decided to take the plunge and get the scarf already! One of my main personal shopping rules is for higher priced items, I do not buy right away, but “think” about them for at least 24 hours. If I’m still obsessing over it, I buy it and never look back…so if I’m still thinking about something a year later…I MUST buy it!!

So far, since I purchased it, I’ve worn it nearly every time I go outside…about 25 times? Right now, it stands at about $7.80/wear, but by the end of the winter, after I’ve worn it about 100 more times, it will be down to just over $1/wear. After I’ve worn it for five years, let’s say about 150 times/year (a WAY under-estimation…I think I’ll wear it during the summer to movies, when I travel…basically ALL the time), I’ll have it down to about $.25/wear. A quarter. In my opinion, this was a much better purchase than that pair of ankle boots I bought last year for $50 and wore once. $50/wear as opposed to $.25/wear? A no-brainer if there ever was one…
