Remember my rant about the Mulberry X Target collaboration when it was first announced? Well seems Mulberry took the easy way out and did exactly what I predicted they’d do:
So, I’m hoping that in this case, Mulberry will come up with some interesting designs unique to Target, but I’m afraid they’ll just end up knocking off the Bayswater or Alexa bag in cheaper materials and hardware and call it a day. And that would be a very sad day indeed.

See what I mean? To be fair, I don’t know what’s in the rest of the collection, but this is a Bayswater.

Anyway, you can shop the collection early on Gilt, this Friday at 12 noon EST if you’re interested to see what else is available. Incidentally, you can also shop the Tucker X Target collaboration at the same time.

Well… don’t kill me when I say this… but I’m probably going to get this bag. Mulberry is crazily out of reach for me and I do like/love their designs. This is probably the best chance I have at owning a handbag with the Mulberry label; if they reproduce the Alexa for Target, and it is good quality, I’ll snatch it up for sure.
I’m quite excited for the Gilt pre-sale…

I have to say, it really doesn’t look all that “Mulberry” to me.
the black patent bayswater knockoff looks waaaay better than that blue one. if it hadn’t sold out in a second on gilt i might have considered it just for fun. only 35 bucks, too, not bad for a work bag imho. it even says target on the front, so you’d probably look at it and sigh, but what the hey.
