Finally. Madewell (silently) launched their e-commerce site recently – I just found out about it via Camp Comfort, although I’m signed up for their mailing list…anyway, I can totally do some damage at Madewell; I love the aesthetic, and since it’s convenient for me to shop their brick & mortar store here, I’ve slowly been collecting pieces.
This sheer vest is next on my list of things to buy – I’ve tried in on in the store a few times, but always leave without it. (I’m waiting for a coupon code ;))
And these SHOES!!! My local store is sold out, but one of the SA’s at Barney’s Co-Op was wearing them the other day and got me all excited again…
The definite must-have piece at Madewell right now though, is this jacket. I have it in this color and wear it all the time (at least when I’m inside, in the air conditioning). It’s great over dresses and washes REALLY well.

madewell is awesome. my problem with them is that the prices are too good sometimes – i end up buying too much 😉
i do try and buy only 100% cotton stuff though, i’ve heard not so great things about some of the tanks/tees with synthetic materials in them.

Grechen, what can you say about Madewell sizing? I’m closer to a 14-16 on top, and I see that jacket says oversized, do you think it might fit?
so far i’ve found the sizing to be true – the jacket overall is oversized, but i have BIG upper arms and it’s snug there. here are some pictures of me wearing it: http://www.newtoatx.com/2010/05/27/fashionably-austin/ – i usually take a large on top, but can sometimes do mediums in oversized stuff. the only obstacle i think would be if you’re relatively “well-endowed” LOL – i am NOT. i never try to close it…i think it might fit you. but it’s a toss-up….
Yeah, it probably won’t fit me..I’m busty! And I often feel weird if I can’t close it…Oh well, I’ll think about it…Thanks for replying 🙂
I love Madewell’s scarves. They always have a kind of, “I just picked this up when I stopped off in Marrakesh on my way home from [insert cool city]” kind of vibe. I’m SO glad they’ve gone online since there aren’t any stores (YET) in our area.

I got the gray : ) Gray is my favorite color just because its such a neutral type of color and you can wear it in the spring and winter. I also LOVE that it washes well. Its such a hassle with a lot of clothes.
I have one that’s similar, more of a Tee material, by Splendid. Everytime I wear it I get compliments and it works over a lot of my tees and tanks. Everything just looks a little more special with it on. You’ll love it, Lynda!
