We saw Elysium over the weekend, and you know the best part? Jodie Foster’s earrings. Oh, and she looks amazing too; she was a great “bad guy” even if overall the movie wasn’t that great. But honestly I was FIXATED on her earrings every time she was in a scene. And I’m not normally one to geek out on movie fashion…*
Unfortunately, there aren’t any great closeup images of her where you can REALLY see the earrings, but they are Alexis Bittar, and although the ones she’s wearing aren’t available anymore, I like the gunmetal version better. Because they’re gunmetal 😉
The earrings and a few more pieces from the Miss Havisham collection that I love:
Crystal encrusted spear necklace | $155 at Alexis Bittar
Alexis Bittar gunmetal pyramid post earrings | $95 at Alexis Bittar (these are the same size and shape that she’s wearing in the movie, just gunmetal instead of rhodium)
Large gold spike earrings | $250 only at Alexis Bittar boutiques (these are INSANE)
Have you ever sought out something you saw a character wearing in a movie or tv show? Did you eventually buy it? I would buy these earrings in a second if I could actually wear them, but my ears are too sensitive.
*although I kind of am…I was inspired to start Grechen’s Closet after a futile search for the Ella Moss dress Carrie was wearing on Sex and the City 😉
Nicely done, these are gorgeous!
I feel your pain though, I wish I could wear any earrings at all…
LOL!!! I’m laughing because I did the exact same thing when we went to the [horrible] Star Trek movie! I was craving Zoe Saldana’s Alexis Bittar earrings, to the point of ignoring the movie. And I kept talking to my husband every time she’d appear and say, “Those are Alexis Bittar Teardrop earrings!” As if he cared…!

haven’t seen that one yet! i totally did that, i was just concentrating on JF’s earrings instead of the movie. which wasn’t that great anyway, but still…
This will read as really wrong but I loved everything Diane Lane wore in ‘Unfaithful.’ Super classic but sexy. No one but me was watching that movie for the clothes, I’m pretty sure.
Totally agree with you, CC, on that one. I think Grechen could do a whole post on “Movies that sucked, but had great clothes.” How about it, Grechen?? 😉
(add “A Perfect Murder” with Gwyneth Paltrow in some very cool clothes, and “The Thomas Crowne Affair”, both old and new).

haha. of course i loved julianne moore’s character’s fashion in that movie she was in with steve carrell…i forget the name. the one ryan gosling was in too. it wasn’t a bad movie though, so it wouldn’t work with your post idea 🙂
Oh, I loved that movie and it was hilarious! (with Emma Stone….Um..Crazy, Stupid Love!!!!!!!)
