In case you didn’t notice, I didn’t talk about Fashion Week at all here on Grechen’s Closet. To be totally honest with you, I couldn’t care less about fashion week NY, London, LA. or wherever. Not because I don’t appreciate fashion for fashion’s sake, or for art’s sake, but I’d just rather see what shows up in stores and on women’s bodies – not just on models. I would honestly love to see a “real” woman dressed for work or play in pieces she styled on her own rather than models walking down the runway in ethereal, never-meant-for-public-consumption creations.
This is why I’m addicted to Lucky Magazine. It’s about shopping more than fashion, and personal style, at least as much as trends. I could do with better editorial and descriptions, but overall, I appreciate that Lucky shows me things I can actually buy, and maybe make work with my body. Maybe…
Kind of like Grechen’s Closet….
Anyway, this latest issue was their Spring handbag guide, and as much as I love Lucky, AND handbags, not many caught my eye. Except a few items by Jessica Jensen. This particular bag was not featured in Lucky, but it’s my favorite out of her collection:
I LOVE the relatively neutral, and muted colors she chose for her Spring 08 collection, and the extremely simple & timeless styles. All the bags are so lovely, they would work well in any closet.
