Surprise! Here’s your early access to the James Perse holiday sale + use code VIPHOLIDAY16 for free shipping on ANY order.
Here are some of my favorite items, but as usual, all sales are final with this sale, so ASK QUESTIONS/leave a comment if you have questions about anything at all – chances are I have tried on, or own one or two pieces π
Low Back skinny dress | $169 (can NEVER go wrong with a JP dress…)
Oversized shirt dress | $129 (I LOVE this, have tried it on twice and would take my normal size. it is a wool blend though so a little itchy, but I imagine it would soften up with wear. Just FYI.)
Cashmere sweatpants | $179
Brushed jersey side split tee | $99 (the brushed jersey is fabulous: warm, mid-weight, and flattering on)
I love the yosemite yoga pants, especially for the price – and the sports bra is one of my favorites, so comfortable. The sheer slub side panel shirt is a perennial favorite (and you’ll see it on TV often…), and I highly recommend the skinny split dress for a simple, long sleeve dress that’s easy to walk in.
What are you buying? anything? Have any questions???
If I am buying anything, it would be the oversized shirt dress, because I’ve wanted it for months, and/or another sports bra. But as I mentioned before, I’m trying to keep my wardrobe steady for awhile, which means nothing in, nothing out. I’ll let you know later if I cave!
Thanks so much Grechen (my JP enabler!) Been waiting for this sale π I ended up buying the mΓ©lange rib V-neck dress in the gray, the brushed jersey drape back top in deep, and the vintage fleece sweatpants. I bought the sweatpants last year and I LOVE them. It’ll be nice having another pair to alternate with! I might give the top to my girlfriend or sis-in-law for Christmas…not sure yet.
I’m still not fully convinced JP offers value for money (at least their casual wear and outerwear) but purchased 4 items on sale today, because I thought they were a reasonable price on sale, although I know the taxes and duties at the border will kill me. They were: Long stripped cashmere dress, short grey linen culottes, “deep” colour brushed jersey drape back top, and the taupe stripped sweater coat. If they are good quality and hang nicely I know I will get a tonne of use out of them. As usual, your free shipping code not valid for Canada, even given the amount of product I am purchasing. It’s a very minor cost everything considered, but I do think it would help expand the Canadian market, as it’s just a little bit off putting in a way. I once started to order socks from no6 store, but at $40 the shipping was going to cost more than the socks. Hard pass. If you ship to Canada, it means you want Canadian to partake of your product, right? π Anyway, very much looking forward to receiving my purchases. Exciting.
Things in my cart:
French Terry Hoodie Coat
Apiece Apart White Sandals (for my wedding/honeymoon shoes for next year)
Twisted Strap A-Line Dress (white) — for Wedding-Related activities (rehearsal dinner, courthouse, etc.)
Grechen, any feedback on these items? I was thinking of the hoodie as an alternative to the gray alpaca cardigan you had posted a few weeks back…
Thank you!
For the first time in years I’m not buying anything….but probably only bc I am going to the JP Cabazon outlet tomorrow:) James Perse, Rag & Bone and Vince here I come!!!!!
I left you a comment on the Grechen’s Cides and Coupons page!
Hi Grechen,
Thank you for the post! I have been waiting for this sale! I have a couple of questions, I have few t shirts (sheet slub crew neck) that are either 2 or 3. How does the fit compare to either the slub crepe or the crepe jersey little boy tee? I am looking for a new white t shirt. Also how about the cashmere sweaters? Also the sheer slub side panel shirt, how does that compare size wise to the t shirts ? I have a James Perse store near my work but unfortunately I don’t have time to stop by….any feedback would be great! Anne
the crepe jersey tends to run a teeny bit bigger than the slub jersey IMO. i don’t have any of the crepe jersey, but have tried on a few of the pieces. i love them, but wanted to stick with the slub jersey or basic v/casual tee for something more “substantial”. the crepe is great for drape but they’re pretty lightweight. **actually, i was thinking about the high gauge tees, i’m not sure i’ve tried any of the crepe jersey – it looks a little textured, and like it would fit “normally” though. different from the crepe that i’ve had before..
i had a slub side panel shirt and found it to run a little more snug than the tees, actually, but it’s been awhile since I had one. when i did, it was a size 3 and everything else was a size 2.
ah!! let us know how you make out!! happy outlet shopping π
LOVE that french terry hoodie coat and i think it would be a great alternative to the alpaca one…it looks nearly identical!! and probably a little more user-friendly. the dress is great too – i remember looking at that earlier in the summer…
Ok thank you for your response! If I did order the relaxed v neck or the slub jersey, would you recommend sizing up or down? I would prefer something more substantial than the sheer slus…I guess if it didn’t fit I can always exchange or return as it is not a sale item…so many good choices at JP!
i take a size 1 in both styles, i prefer the shorter, slimmer fit – the size 1 isn’t so big around my middle, and not as long. but i still have size 2 in a couple of styles for days when i want something more loose. it just depends on how you want them to fit, honestly. i generally like my slub jersey, and relaxed v-neck to be more fitted but i’d get the high gauge to be more loose, since it’s longer and more “oversized” anyway. if that makes sense….
yes, so many good choices π you can’t go wrong, but sizing is pretty important!!
I am eyeing the double split midi skirt and the soft gabardine pull-on pant and wondering if anyone has experience with either item and the fit of them? I have two JP dresses and both are size 1, it is my understanding that the model featured on the site is wearing a 2 in both those items so I am leaning toward a 2 with both those as I don’t want them to be terribly fitted. (esp the skirt).
Thanks for any feedback!
i haven’t tried either one, but the skirt is brushed jersey, which in my experience stretches and “gives” a little while still remaining nicely fitted, so i personally would take my “normal” size. if that helps LOL
Hi Grechen, I have wanted the Henley dress for a long time but not sure if I should get size 1 or 2. I’m 120 lb, waist 27.5″, hips 36.5″, 34 c. It looks like there is no spandex, so that the dress may stretch? Thanks
I would do a size 1 or even a 0 in the melange jersey dress? I’ve heard that the live chat is pretty good at giving size advice. FYI
The brushed jersey version will not stretch as much though…
I’ve not tried the cotton/wool style, but I would definitely assume that it will stretch – so I’d err on the smaller side
Thank you! Happy holidays to you and your family!
I was tempted by the high gauge cummerbund top and the draped-back top, but am so reluctant to buy anything final sale anymore that I resisted…

I would “normally” say that I take a 4 in JP tops, but one time I got this JP crepe wrap top that was ENORMOUS….I am a solid size 12, and broad-shouldered, but this was like a XXL size!
