Some of my favorite items on sale:
Cotton/wool long sleeve tee | $69
I bought this (in carbon) and the short sleeve (in cream) during Shopbop’s big sale, and like them both – they’re good warm layers, and fit well.Β Excellent for these prices!!
Cotton/wool crewneck tee | $59
Sheer slub tee | $49
James Perse makes my favorite t-shirts.Β I can’t say that enough.Β This slub crew neck is my favorite crew neck tee ever.
Spiral twist dress | $169
Chiffon dress | $169
I am really tempted by this, although it’s very different from what I normally buy/wear! I just love the breezy chiffon and the dark floral pattern.
Open back skinny dress | $129
I say this every time.Β THIS DRESS IS A NO BRAINER. Especially at this price.
Cashmere polo dress | $129
Great price for a cashmere dress – I think it would be a great layering piece.
Linen tee dress | $99
I like James Perse’s linen, and this is a good price for a very simple dress.
High gauge circle tee | $59
Stop reading and order one of these RIGHT NOW.Β I cannot say how wonderful this tee is often enough.Β Seriously.Β I got one last sale in a size 1.
High gauge tank | $39
Ditto for this tank – perfection.Β A very light, drapey layer now, and excellent tank for spring/summer.
Linen pull on pant | $99
Great price for great linen pants…
Linen surplus shorts | $89
Cotton/linen shirt | $99
James Perse’s linen/cotton blend shirts are magical; they’re cool in warm weather, and don’t wrinkle or lose their shape like linen sometimes will.Β And so soft…
All sales are final during the sale, so if you have any questions about anything, ask away! Did you order anything from the last sale that is still available? Have input for other readers about sizing/styles?
Thank you for supporting Grechen’s Closet by shopping through my affiliate links π it keeps me going!!!
Hey Grechen, your promo code isnβt working!
Help please
ugh! you’re right..i’ll contact them ASAP, but you can also chat with CS and tell them it should be working in the mean time, that might be faster…
okay, it’s GRCHNWINTER18 – leave out both e’s LOL – they told me the wrong code…
I love the pull on linen pants but they look a lot like my ES clydes. π
Can you talk about James Perse sizing and your thoughts in general on brands that choose non-standard sizing schemes?
I understand the idea of progressive sizes, a 2 is bigger than a 1, a 3 is bigger than a 2 β but when it’s mixed in with 2s that relate not to 1s and 3s but to 0s and 4s, it’s a lot to sift through, functionally speaking. Maybe I’m just venting?
Thanks for your help..I was able to order finally. I got a couple of Tees.. The drop, shoulder Terry Tee In French navy and the Ressac mini stripe Tee in khaki. So nice to get elbow length sleeves!!
Thanks for,the heads up and the free shipping code!
oh, so glad!! i love a good elbow length sleeve π
Another vote for the high gauge circular tee– I’m actually wearing it right now! I got it on super, super, super sale a few years ago. I’d say it’s a little oversized– I’m wearing a 1, and could easily have sized down to a 0 (I’m otherwise a 6 in tops.) The fabric is great, I like the openness of the neck, and it’s super versatile, in that it can be very work appropriate or very casual. I probably wear it once a week. I shouldn’t order another– that weirdly never works well?– but every time I see it on sale someplace I’m tempted. But the $59 is still more expensive than what I paid! (Thanks, Saks, for your weird pricing.)
Thanks Grechen, I bought the cashmere polo dress. I am leaning towards comfy and loose fitting clothes these days so I got it in a 2 instead of my regular size 1 for JP clothes. I’m supposed to receive it tomorrow already (the perks of living in the same state the company’s wearhouse is in!) so i’ll report back on how I like it.
oh lucky!!
can’t wait to hear about it…
Not sure how different this is than the earlier, recent sale. Can’t be bothered until and unless they put the brushed cashmere on sale. The only JP item that I absolutely cannot duplicate elsewhere.
If it helps with sizing: I am 5’5″,150 lbs, inverted triangle, measurements are 40, 36 (at belly button), 41, and I am usually size 3 in stretchy James Perse, size 4 when the description reads “fits close to body.” I sort of think of JP sizing as 0=XS, 1=S, 2=M, 3=L, 4=XL. For me the appeal of JP is that their tops are very slimming on my upper body, which is worth gold to me because my tummy is my problem area. The only other brand this slimming on me is Eileen Fisher stretch silk jersey tees, which I also buy religiously, but they tend to snag and have to be air dried. I air dry JP tees when I have time and toss them into the dryer sometimes with no problem.
Thanks so much for the sale heads up and recommendations! I ended up picking up the Open Back Skinny Dress (sized down to a 1 from past recommendations), the One Shoulder Jersey Dress (size 2) and a cotton linen polo tank (size 1, because it looked like relaxed fit and I’m small on top). All fit great and look really good. For others’ future reference, my measurements are 5’6″ 140, 36, 28, 39 – small bust, trim waist, big hips, and muscular thighs. π
I needed a comfortable, formal(ish) dress and I think the one shoulder jersey will fit the bill perfectly for years to come. The only black formal dress in my closet was a wool blend one my husband calls my ‘funeral’ dress. It looks good, but really stiff and corporate.
The open back skinny dress looks like it will be very versatile. I work in the visitor industry often directly with guests, but I also manage the business. So I have to look professional, but casual enough to fit in with people who are dressed casually because they are on vacation otherwise it can be awkward. It looks great with sneakers and flats and a tee thrown or a denim jacket worn over it.
the open back dress is so amazing…it looks completely at home casually, but also dressed up a bit. that’s why i love them!!! and they fit so well π
and i think the one shoulder dress is a great formal-ish dress too –
excellent choices!!
