The Half-Yearly sale for women and children started at Nordstrom today – I posted a few of my non-James Perse pieces over at Grechen’s Codes earlier, but here are ALL of the James Perse items on sale now, including the ones I own, and if you scroll down, you’ll see my comments on each item.
FYI, the James Perse private online sale will happen, a bit later this year than previous years, but it’s coming! I will let you know more details as soon as I’m able. In the mean time, here’s what to shop at Nordstrom:

**as Mamavalveeta pointed out in the comments, sizing with JP can be confusing. When I was a size 12-14, bordering on 16, I was able to wear size 4 tops in James Perse and some skirts/bottoms. Now, I consider myself to be an 8-10 and wear a size 2 in nearly everything. That’s something I have always loved about the brand, actually, that as I gained weight, I was still able to find things that fit me….

Ah, that Henley gets me every time! Actually, I could probably fill an entire pinboard with henleys and call it “Obsession”!
So, I just noticed on the Nordstrom website that a JP size 4 is equivalent to an 8-10. Hmm… Do you think that’s correct? Cuz I’ve worn JP items at a size 12-14! “Warning: Do not try this at home!”
i consider myself an 8-10 i think, and i’m wearing a size 2. i definitely wore size 4 in JP as a 12-14 – the size chart is wrong IMO.

For another sizing reference, I am 5′ 8″, 160 lbs., apple shaped, busty and normally a size 8-10/ medium and I consistently wear a 4 in the dresses.
I’m looking for black pants, any suggestions? I have some black skinnies from Banana Republic that I like but they really faded… Love to know your thoughts.

Thanks for addressing the size issue, Grechen. I find sizing to be quite a conundrum theses days (i.e. Everlane, jeans in general, expensive brands vs fast fashion). Consistency is apparently too much to expect for women, whereas my husband can walk into almost any store and go to his size, knowing it will work!

I bought the tie waisted skirt and the blouson dress, I am tempted by the funnel neck sweatshirt. I am a new James Perse convert and newly obsessed.
