LOL, but I’m sure many of you (as did I in the beginning) said the same thing about James Perse’s Summer campaign with the Birkenstock Arizona sandals. And I eventually came around to those. Maybe I’ll come around to these as well, although I doubt it. Nothing wrong with the shoes, but they don’t suit the dress in my opinion. Anyway, I love how JP isn’t afraid to go a little “out there” with shoe choices. And when they do, they commit 100% – case in point:
Obviously I AM IN LOVE WITH EVERY SINGLE OUTFIT in James Perse’s holiday campaign. Weird shoe choice or not. DYING. I’m literally fanning myself over THOSE PANTS (which are not in stock yet). And this top. Again. Dying. But you know, James Perse can do no wrong in my eyes. So if they want to pair black Nikes with every look, fine. My love is not diminished.
What do you think?
I don’t like the sneaks with the dress, but they seem to go with the other outfits to my eye. Strange, cuz I am NOT a kicks lover!! But I DO love this style of photographing his clothes (is that from JP himself or a dept. store?). It gives me a much better idea of how something will look pulled-together in an outfit.
Referring to the top pic, I have a similar look when I’m in my nightshirt and needing to go get the paper at the end of the drive at 6 a.m. and I throw on my running sneaks sitting at the door and crossing my fingers hoping no neighbor will see me….
I’m sure that dress is hundreds of dollars also…
Not for me, but maybe I just don’t get it.
I agree, Grechen. JP can “do no wrong.” If the man made rags, I’d probably purchase them! Love his soft, slouchy comfy clothes. I’m also “fanning myself” over the pants, but it might be a menopausal hot flash;).
I agree with Juli in that the dress reminds me of a nightshirt so that’s why it looks odd with the sneakers but I think the sneakers look perfect with the pants.
Those pants are what I’m hunting all over the ‘nets for. And yes, I’d like to wear them with black sneakers.
yes, i love the shoes with the other outfits. not the dress, though. or not on ME, i guess i should clarify. it’s kind of cute on the model, but the dress & those shoes would look horrible on me.
haha juli!
no, those pants are really good 🙂
i could do the pants with black sneakers, just not the dress. but then again, black sneakers aren’t really my thing….
I don’t mind the sneakers with the dress, personally. (I’m almost ready to buy a pair.) I think JP is trying to show that their clothes can be styled trendy. Or you can dress them up or down because the clothes are classic. Maybe I’m just on a JP high because I just bought a JP T-shirt for $11 at a consignment store in Vancouver. : )
lol, you guys are making me feel crazy for not liking the black sneakers!!! 🙂
i agree with you on the styling – i think they really try to bring out the casual-chic-ness of the looks.
and good find !!!
You’re not crazy for not liking the black sneakers. Style is a personal thing. Maybe they’ll grow on you like the Birkenstocks did. : )
And I know my second-hand JP T-shirt is a few years old but I don’t care because it’s still stylish and it still has lots of wear left, so JP is an excellent investment.
Now I want to go to the JP store in Montreal to get those crepe pants, too! (Since JP still hasn’t launched their Canadian online store.)
Have you tried that JP dress on? It’s cute.
You know I think they make the most perfect sweatshirt dress. I bought it in black and blue-grey last year!
no, we really don’t have a great selection of JP here, so i don’t get a chance to try anything on. i just have to buy online and then it’s hit or miss…
i like the sweatshirt dress, but not on me 🙁 it just doesn’t work with my hips/butt/legs. i keep trying them on because i love the idea of having one, but i’m always just underwhelmed when i try it on.
I love that you LOVE JP in general…
His long tank dresses don’t work on but his sweatshirt dresses are great for me.
