I’ve rather quietly launched my new shop, slowre, today. I have big goals for slowre, aiming to turn it into an online marketplace exclusively for pre-loved sustainable style (and maybe some new things), but for right now, it’s just some pieces from my own closet 😉 I’m hoping to set it up to take items for consignment soon, also.
Please check it out if you’re interested, and let me know what you think, or if you have any questions!
Thank you, as always, for your support.
I think that this is a fabulous idea. I was in a locally owned clothing shop where the owner travels all over the US searching out US made, sustainable clothing which she carries TONS of in her shop. Some customers complain about the prices, but everyone here knows why. And she has no problem saying that where else can you find these clothes and be able to try them on? But I was buying a piece that another customer LOVED, and we were discussing how we should have a clothing swap every other month or so! We all love everything another shopper tries on, don’t we? So buy having your shop/site is a great concept! Can’t wait to hear more about it!
Hi there 🙂 iIs the James Perse split back maxi dress that is for black or charcoal? Thanks so much!
It’s charcoal
Beautiful site!
thanks so much jennifer!
Congratulations! What a wonderful idea. I love your philosophy, your site and your logo! I think you have a typo on the about page (I hope you don’t mind me telling you–feel free to disregard). Hope you’re having a fun weekend. Beth
Great idea, Grechen! Good luck!
I noticed the Slowre logo on pinterest. It looks very well and makes sense of the name. I was wondering why you don’t have the logo on the website too. Or maybe I just didn’t notice it.
Hope you enjoy a lot of success with Slowre!
thanks lori! do you mean on instagram? i haven’t put anything on pinterest (not that someone else might have…). i was originally going to go with that logo with the triangle and switched at the last minute. i’m still trying things, honestly, it’s still a work in progress for the most part. i just wanted to get it up and started, even if it’s not yet PERFECT 😉
trying to remember that everything needn’t be perfect from very beginning. i need to build up to something LOL
Very cool! Can’t wait to be a customer. Congrats!
Hey girl! This is great! I have an Everlane item I’d like to sell, are you up for that yet? 🙂
Yes, I meant Instagram, of course. I get it. Well, I liked that logo for what it’s worth. I like the new one too. It looks beautiful on the page. And you are right, not everything needs to be perfect from the start. You’d never start anything if you thought like that.
Sure! I’ll email you 🙂
Thanks Beth ! Fixed the typo. Thanks for letting me know. When you work on things for so long and all the time stuff runs together and you don’t notice anymore!!
Agreed! Always happy to help if you ever need a proof reader!
Congratulations!
I actually have several things I would love to sell when you’re ready–two from French sustainable brands that are brand new but didn’t fit me, and one from a Finnish brand. I’ve had trouble figuring out how to sell / consign them since they’re not well known brands in the US, so don’t attract interest on eBay, and aren’t brands accepted by sites like Material Wrld or RealReal.
Like the idea and the site but do think the shipping charges are a bit high…
Thanks! I understand the shipping costs issue…I did it that way to keep the prices lower and I like to ship flat rate priority mail, which is a bit more expensive. I’ll re-evaluate it going forward though.
Love the name and logo! It looks great – easy to navigate, and clean – just like your blog. Damn, I wish I was your size!
me too!
