If you’re the keymaster, are you looking for your Gatekeeper? (PS How excited am I about the new Ghostbusters?? VERY!)
I’m Kelly, I’m 43, work in academia (research), so my work attire is fairly casual. I live in NC so wear sundresses May – October. I’m not quite as minimal as Grechen (boho preppy/classical would probably be my style, or “boring” says my best friend/college roommate) Found Grechen a couple years ago, trying to expand my style horizons. Still working on it. I’m not a minimalist but appreciate a good capsule for travel. Love to travel, love to plan my travel wardrobe….June 13, 2016 at 9:50 am #22155

I hope this thread fills up with more posts because I’d love to get to know some of the regulars here better!
I’m Christine, recently turned 50, and an editor working in the least-corporate department of a big operation in midtown Manhattan, so pretty much anything goes clotheswise. I have a very long commute and very long work days with A LOT of sitting, so comfort has become more important than almost anything else. My style is minimalist in a design sense (I distinguish between that and “minimal” – no capsules for me). A lot of black, a little avant garde with bold, sculptural shapes but easy to wear (I need to be able to get dressed very quickly and I hate fussing with anything). Luckily it’s not hard right now to find clothes that tick those boxes, though I have a terrible time with pants. I found Grechen in 2006 while googling around for info on indie handbag designers, I and kept coming back.
Beyond clothing, I have pathological weaknesses for chocolate, red wine (antioxidants, right?), cheese and craft beer, and am often out at divey clubs listening to bands (getting my fill because it won’t be long before bad feet/knees force me to give it up). Cooking (and eating!) and photography are my primary hobbies. Reading as well, but I consider that more of a necessity in my field.October 4, 2016 at 6:54 am #22627
