I am in such a shopping rut…last week I was able to purchase a few things I “needed” (2 Anthropologie skirts and a 2nd pair of No6 clog sandals) and now I am wholly uninterested in shopping. Perhaps it’s because yesterday was our first triple-digit day here in Austin, or it may also be that I have a little bit of extra cash floating around. I always seem to want to shop more when I don’t have extra cash…when I do have extra money, I just want to hoard it. Go figure.
And I’m sure you’ve noticed that everything populating the “what’s new” sections of your favorite online shopping destinations are Fall/Winter items. SWEATERS. BOOTS. SCARVES. Oh my. Yeah, it’s cool that we can buy in-season stuff in August on deep discount, but seeing all these new sweaters and scarves that I won’t be able to wear for several more months just depresses me. And makes me want to shop LESS.
Except I do really want to wear this Enza Costa sweater once it cools off about 40 degrees (it’s reversible – how cool is that?). And by the time I’m ready to buy it, it’ll probably be on sale! BONUS.

Muahaha! Sorry, this is how I feel whenever I see Fall stuff during the Summer and Summer stuff on sale during the Fall. San Francisco weather is so wackadoo: I’m in need of Summer and Fall clothes at any given moment. Last week was in the mid-50s so I was in sweaters. Suddenly the weekend was a warm mid-60 and I was running around in a T-shirt. It’s just really awesome being able to shop the sales without worrying what season we’re in.
As for shopping right now… um… no. Because I already bought a blender, a pair of Cole Haan flats, and a flat iron. I plan on shopping in two weeks though.

It must be going around because I thought I was totally pathetic when I used my “ideeli” credits to buy a Hot Air Corn Popper instead of clothes….too boring for words!

I’ve lost interest in the sample sales recently. I find that all the sales I do like all happen really close together, so I never have enough money and the decision is always really hard.
My most recent two purchases included a James Perse white stretch turtleneck and an Inhabit scarf. I always want to buy fall clothes, no matter how hot it currently is. I even bought a wool coat two months ago because I have a serious weakness for coats and jackets
No more shopping for me until my credit card balances are both zero. Wish me luck. I’ll need it!
