Grechen’s Closet own resident super-Polyvore stylist Madeline Rhodes takes on my beloved UGGs (LOL) with her own finds for more Fabu Winter Footwear:

Uggs, don’t take this the wrong way… but I’m thinking it’s time that
we women, in need of winter footwear, move on. Please know that you
have kept our feet warm and cozy, and we appreciate you for that, but
you have also made all of our feet look alike (aka muffin foot). So,
2010 is here and I believe that along with the new year, It’s time for
a sleeker, more unique, winter boot look… time for funky and fun,
stylish and unusual… and most important, as always, practicality.

Ladies, if you’re on board with the boot revolution, come with me and
I’ll show you some pretty fabulous finds I recently discovered. These
are looks that can be taken from work to play. Looks that can be woven
into cool outfits and actually enhance the overall image you are going
for. Allow your personality to shine through your boot choice.

There’s something here for each of you– a classic pair, a basic,
staple look, a funky tweed ensemble, a pair with ultra sporty flair, a
sleek and sophisticated duo, and lastly, a multicolored pair that
falls somewhere in the middle of that spectrum. What’s the best part?
They will all keep your feet warm, dry and comfortable. Ohhh, gotta
love when practicality and style come as a pair.

p.s., Uggs, in case I was too harsh, I should mention that I advise
all readers to keep you [Uggs] around for less fashionable moments–
milk and egg types of errands, picking the kids up, getting to the
gym, etc. They are lovely and comfy in their own way.

(note from grechen: I totally agree with the above statement, I recommend that everyone own a pair of UGGs, but please please please reserve them for dog walks, around the house, and always wear them with pants :) )
