Closet Clean-out – Final Edits

This is (almost) it. Besides stuff I’ve packed up for my sister, and some pieces that I’m donating to Goodwill, this is what’s left. I’m still struggling with getting rid of ANY of my Inhabit cotton pieces, but I’m sure I will soon, and I’ll let you know. But one thing I have tried to focus on in deciding what to get rid of is fit, and how often I ACTUALLY wear things.

It doesn’t matter how much I love a thing, if I don’t use it or wear it, then what’s the point of having it? To a certain extent, you can have things around that don’t get a lot of wear, but only if you have a lifestyle that supports that: i.e. you travel a lot, attend events, do anything out of your “normal” routine that requires special pieces. I don’t do that. Yes, I travel, but I can wear all of my casual clothes for that. I don’t really attend special events, and even those I do (like a beach wedding) I have things that are appropriate to wear already.

Also, fit. Generally if a garment requires that I have to wear a different bra than “normal” or a lot of shapewear, or slips, I don’t wear it very often. If the straps fall off my shoulders, or show my bra strap, I don’t wear it. I must do a better job of buying things that fit. Granted, I have lost weight in the last year, so the fit is “off” with a lot of these things. I’ve tried to make them work, but they just don’t. So here they are.

And finally, stripes. I love stripes. On other people. I have some stripes that I’m keeping, but generally, I don’t want any more stripes or patterns in my wardrobe. I just don’t wear them.

 BAGS FOR SALE!!!!!!!

First, the Balenciaga is not in good shape. It wasn’t in good shape when I bought it, but I couldn’t resist. I love it, and don’t care that it’s stained and the leather is rubbed off in some places. But I understand that doesn’t make it very desirable. The metal plate that’s supposed to be fastened to a leather patch on the zip pocket in the bag fell off (I still have it), and I’m pretty sure some of the tassels are gone, but it’s still a completely functional, and beautiful bag. Next, I have the Jerome Dreyfuss momo bag in red (full review here, dimensions at Shopbop) and the Jerome Dreyfuss mini twee bag in “nude” (last seen on me here – full description & dimensions at Shopbop), which is slightly pink. Both are in excellent condition; not a scratch or blemish on either. I would like $250 for each Jerome Dreyfuss bag including shipping.
