I never thought I’d say it, but I think I might have reached the point of clog overload. I still love them, but because they’re trendy, there are SO MANY out there and when you reach that point of saturation, you’re bound to find some real uglies. And wow, are there some UGLY clogs out there. I’m aware that many of you are probably saying that ALL clogs are ugly, but I humbly disagree.
I definitely think there’s a way to appreciate good design and brands that were doing clogs before they were trendy (Miu Miu, Tory Burch, sven, etc.) as opposed to the recent “jump on the bandwagon” designers like Jeffrey Campbell. But even I’m getting a little weary of the exaggerated platform clogs and wood soles of Jeffrey Campbell and Miu Miu lately and prefer a step back to a more “traditional” look. But that’s me, I have no flair for the dramatic 😉
Anyway, I’ve been quietly adding clogs to my Fall shoe wishlist, and here are some I’m tempted by:
at Saks (click through the image and go directly to the product page) – I’ve been wanting a pair of the Tory Burch clogs for years…

(I almost didn’t include the last clogs on the right – the Swedish Hasbeens “loafers” – because they might be one of the uglies…but I can’t quite decide…)
Marc by Marc Jacobs at Net-a-Porter – I love the color and glam studs on this pair.
See by Chloe at Piperlime – I’m kind of become obsessed with these. They’re not a clog, though.
And even though these are kind of clunky, I like the style. And the price. These N.Y.L.A. clogs would be about $80 after code INSTYLE20 at Revolve:
I’m obsessed with the Chloe Wedges as well.

You just put me over the edge. I’m ordering the See by Chloe wedges in black and tan. I’ve been resisting but I just can’t anymore. Why oh why must you tweet about these awesome trends?
yay!!!!!!!!!!! please come back and give a full report 🙂 i want to live vicariously through you…
ah yes, count me in…but I have a specific brand which I am obsessing about –
Rachel Comey. I cannot believe just how comfortable her clog-like shoes are…..the platforms make them so wearable……YIKES!
I hope not to make it as habit-forming as Inhabit!
Thanks for your great posts…..
totally agree with RC, although i’ve yet to try a pair in person. i’ve devoted pages and pages to rachel comey over the years, but i always feel like any of her pieces are just too inaccessible for me…and by the time the shoes go on sale, my size is sold out 🙁
speaking of inhabit, what have you picked up with the sale/coupon code? anything good?? i still haven’t ordered anything; i can’t make up my mind.
I just got the steve madden clogs and I LOVE them they are platforms and a great shade of green with little studs on the side. I walked 15 blocks in NYC with them on and had NO TROUBLE —- unheard of. also got a lot of good comments.
chk out my new store, too! like, brand new —- as in, the past two days 🙂
