I bought quite a few things this week, and spent most of my “allowance” on my hair! But it needed to be done, and it was worth it. I’m learning that I really don’t need much at all, really. Especially all the food and “little” extra things I was buying at Trader Joe’s, Sephora, Target, Whole Foods…which made my discretionary money disappear…

I cannot keep colored nail polish on anymore. I just want them neutral. In the picture above, I’m just wearing the Julep nail treatment, but yesterday I painted them with Chanel Emprise, but was over it by the evening, so I removed it. I don’t know – lately, color on my nails is just too jolting. Sometimes I will just use this Butter London nail foundation, which I also really like. It’s more natural nail colored and matte than the Julep treatment, which is pink-ish.

I’ve been in Atlanta all week at my mom’s with my husband and step-son. Wow…does time fly! We’ve been busy, but not too busy, but it seems like it’s time to leave already (we’re going home on Sunday). Tired every night, but happy tired. We went to parks, a pool with water slides, the art museum, and many many trips to the grocery store and farmer’s market for fruit & meat to grill.

As you see above, I decided to be the boss of my clothes and take charge of the long denim skirt by Mother that’s been wallowing in the depths of my closet. It didn’t turn out so well, but more on that later, and more on the idea that we are the boss of our clothes.
